I know she's not classified as a gospel singer, but a lot of you may be familiar with her song "Jesus, Take The Wheel". She talks about letting go of our own life's reigns, and giving it all up to Jesus.

I find that she has a lot of positive messages in her songs. Another really great and profoundly true song is "So Small". It's about the challenges that we're going through, and how love is the only thing that makes life worthwile. The love of our Saviour, family, friends, etc.

I've got both of her albums, and there's a lot of meaning in most of the songs. What do you all think?

I think she is very talented indeed, and I love the song, "Jesus Take the Wheel". My only concern with her is the way she dresses at Awards night and on some of the covers of her albums. It does not reflect modesty. I'm not saying she has to wear long sleeves and a skirt down to her ankles, lol...but, well I've said enough.

She's one of the best singers I've heard. Sweet voice like an angel, and a talent that I'm sure is God-given.

You have to admit, though, that she dresses more modestly than most of these other female singers.

I've seen what she wears; it's nothing too revealing. However, Beyonce could at least cover up more on stage.

I agree about the clothing thing. It's shocking what most of these "celebrities" wear in public! I'd be too shy to wear a lot of it, lol!

She has a beautiful voice and is a beautiful person. As for her way of fashion clothing, I have never seen her dress overly revealing. However, based on past "good girl" celebrities who appear so, well "good girl" I would not be surprised if she ended up in some men magazine like Maxim or FHM on the cover nearly naked.

I hope she does not steep that low, but this is Hollywood. These souls get sucked up into the spirit of worldliness, and Hollywood is likely not easy to refrain from when you have all the camera and praise on you.

We can always pray for these people. GOD loves them the same as He loves us who follow Him.

Read about Brian Welch, the ex-guitarist from the famous band Korn. He wrote his own autobiography and let me tell you it was a simple yet an incredibly powerful book. A great testimony to GOD indeed.

All we can do is pray that she will stay close to God. My mom actually read a story that said Carrie reads her bible on the tour bus.

She and many other celebrities, beyonce sang a Chistian song at an event, doesnt mean I would listen nor does it make her any different to any other secular singer.

But then again country music have always and would always find itself on christian music shelves .....How many of us bought Kanye west album when he sang " Jesus walk"

She didn't write the song " Jesus take the wheel" and I'm not sure if " Inside your Heaven " is about Jesus

On the same album Jesus takes the wheel there is a song talking about slashing a guys tire, what it means to be young and beautiful.

“I dug my key into the side of his pretty little suped up 4 wheel drive,
carved my name into his leather seats.
I took a Louisville Slugger to both head lights,
slashed a hole in all 4 tires.
Maybe next time he’ll think before he cheats.”

Other song.

While we're young and beautiful,
We'll party down on Main street,
Wearing next to nothing,
Feeling every heart beat,
Having fun, while we're still young and beautiful

Such modest words...and the noble prize goes to miss underwood.
Aww how sweet..now all the little girls would want to feel whats its like to be young and beautiful.

This explains why my little niece was holding a bottle of peroxide and short shorts...I thought we were doing tye dye...silly me she was just trying to be young and beautiful.

But all and all, I give her credit for winning American Idol.

You go girl.:thumbs_up:thumbs_up
not one but 2 :thumbs_up

Jhn 15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

I never heard any of Carrie's other songs besides Jesus take the wheel. What does it mean to ask Jesus to take the wheel if your other songs discuss such things? I think it's fake to use the name of Jesus just to sell a cd and then have junk on the rest of it. To be honest, I'm thankful to rizen1 for pointing out these other lyrics.

Amy Grant used to sing songs about Jesus in her early years and then she began to ride the fence for awhile and sang a little pop, a little rock, and some spiritual songs. The pop and rock was often not anything about Jesus, yet it wasn't especially offensive. However, the longer she walked down the middle of the road, the more she swerved from the Lord Jesus Christ, or at least it seemed so to me as I listened to her music become more and more wordly.

I don't know, it just makes me sad that some artists can't choose either the dark or the light or be hot or cold. Stacy Orrico (has anyone heard of her?) tries to have some Christian songs on her cd's but some other songs are not so nice and her new photo on new cd is offensive to me. Her whole back is showing in some outfit, not even a strap or a sleeve at her shoulder. I'm sorry...it just doesn't cut it to me as a Christian album, even though one or two of the songs are played on Christian radio.

Matthew 12:33-34

33(E) "Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree bad and its fruit bad,(F) for the tree is known by its fruit. 34(G) You brood of vipers! How can you speak good,(H) when you are evil?(I) For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.

Matthew 7:16

You will recognize them(A) by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thornbushes, or figs from thistles?

In simple observance of her lyrics and videos, I doubt Underwood is a genuine follower of Christ. This is going by what the above Scripture teachers.
