I have to work Saturday and on Easter Sunday. I always cook for my family on Easter Sunday but I can't this year. We plan to celebrate on Friday, which is Good Friday. Does anyone think it is wrong for me to cook and to celebrate on this day? Part of me feels it's wrong because of the horrible death our Lord suffered. I would like to hear other views.

Not sure it matters but if we're not to celebrate on "Good Friday" what are we to do?

Queenie, By all means pray, and always celebrate the Lord! It is good to remember the Lord's work on our behalf, but not to forget that he said,

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have [it] more abundantly." John 10:10

Rituals can rob us of joy if we are not careful. :singing:Sing Hallelujah!

He is Risen... He is Risen indeed!

Maybe you should have someone read aloud the Biblical account from Palm Sunday until Jesus' resurrection. I think that would put things into perspective.

Thanks. I decided to focus on the end result of Good Friday, being reconciled with God.

A blessed Easter to everyone!

Queenie why did JESUS suffer that horrible death? It was a most powerful demonstration of HIS love for you. Is that not worth celebrating? HE became died so you can live. HE became sin so you could be made the righteousness of GOD in HIM. Worth celebrating. HE took on all the disease in the world so you can live in total health. Worth celebrating. and much more All worth celebrating.

Go for it!
