Hi my name is Paul,
If you dont know what celibacy is then I'll tell you it's not getting married for the sack of following God this is somthing that has been on my heart for about a year Jesus says that anyone that can survive not getting marride for this purpose should and paul says somthing simalar in 1 cor 7:25-38
I wanated to take this on, not nessisarily make a pact to never get married but go through life thinking I would do this unless God sets before me a wife this is realy hard for me because many people dis agree but God loves me and will give me the stenght to know the truth I would still appreciate some comments maybe with scripture not to be picky but it's important to stay in the word

:rose: Dear Paul: Celibacy is an issue I deal with too. I have been married but am not right now and I do pray to the Lord that I need only the Holy Spirit as my intimate friend. I can give you the meaning of the scripture, because it was stated often that if we could (and that is only if we could), to not wed, because it would be more possible to devote ourselves to our true love, our Lord God.
I pray all the time that I can remain celibate and that my life is devoted to my Father.
I don't think that we get bonus points for remaining celibate, but we as individuals have a chance to discover God, without the restrictions of marriage.
Hope you find what you are looking for. For some the journey is easier than others.
I just want myself, to devote my life of love to my Almighty Creator and feel married in the Holy Spirit. There is temptation to "fall in love" again, but I think that with my life, the only answer is to stay married to the Holy Spirit.
Best of God, be with you. Amen :rose:

My advice to you is to wait upon God.

I have never had sex and it has been 16 years since I committed my life to God and God saw my faithfulness. He has now provided me with a lovely girl who is also a virgin and a Christian and the great thing is that we are both going to wait until we marry to honour God although it has been hard at times as we deeply care for one another and the temptation is always there. Even if you meet someone there are still temptations...in many ways more so dont think its an easy way out :)

The key is Matthew 6v33
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you

\O/

God bless, David

I believe it is a good thing.

I believe celibacy is a good thing but I don't believe it is a good thing to take a vow for anything but to serve God because if we don't we have wasted our life.

I believe two people can agree to be married but I still don't believe in the vows. We shouldn't promise to do things we can not be sure that we can do. We are God's Childern but we like children make the wrong choices sometimes. I just mentioned the marriage thing because I realized someone might jump on that.

May You all be blessed in Christ Jesus, Our living LORD.
