Cell Phone vs. Bible

I wonder what would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones.

What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets
What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it
What if we flipped through it several times a day
What if we used it to receive messages from the text
What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it
What if we gave it to kids as gifts
What if we used it as we traveled
What if we used it in case of an emergency
What if we upgraded it to get the latest version

I was thinking on my way home, got touched by the spirit, and wrote this so you could hear it. Its just something to think about...

Something to make you say hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, and where is my Bible?

I don't have a cell phone currently, but I can totaly relate. Good post. Can I use this someday? lol

I decided to give up my cell phone, very stressful.

Buy yourself a pocket version NIV, its the smallest bible I found, great for carrying around. It truly changes your day if you carry it with you, a lot of people who show no interest in the bible will take a look if you have it 100% of the time in your pocket.

Its white and has a tough sleeve to protect it, with silver page edges and a ribbon marker.

Great post Alicia. Good thinking, I used to abuse my cell. Now I don't care much for it. I carry a Bible in my car, but I must admit I rarely use it. Probably because I'm driving :P

It is definitely an awesome idea to carry the Bible with you, pocket, car, gym locker anything/anywhere. Beach too :)

I do readily admit that I like having my cell phone, but it's not a necessity with me at all. I don't carry it very often, &, if I use it, it's usually for long distance calls (I get a rate for them, &, with a roommate who's also from out of town as I am, it's great that I have that if she's on the phone & I have the need to call home). However, it's not a ball-&-chain to me. I could actually take it or leave it, as far as the phone part goes. I like the camera in it, but right now I don't live where I can e-mail or text message things from or to my phone.

I'm thankful that I'm not a slave to my phone.

I love the Word &, while I don't have a pocket edition, I do carry it around with me quite often. When I don't have my Bible with me I'm thankful for verses I've memorised. I may not remember exactly where the verses are in the Bible, but I know them. It helps to have the Word in your heart. :)

Great idea! If I ever find a pocket edition of the Message, I'll be sure to get one. I might just ask my Dad for the pocket version of the NKJV back - he finds the print too small, but if he's using it I won't worry about it.

HII,I am a new member but i think that you are right,it is a wonderful thought, I think if we take the bible as a cell phone we woudnot leave it from our hands

Praise God girl! If you don't mind I'm going to share this. It's truly a blessing. Bless you!
