This is one of my most favorites! I hope (if you do bake them) you will enjoy them as much as I do!
CHOCOLATE 'N' OUT BARS
1 CUP UNSIFTED FLOUR
1 CUP QUICK COOKING OATS
3/4 CUP FIRMLY PACKED LIGHT BROWN SUGAR
1/2 CUP MARGARINE - OR - BUTTER, SOFTENED
1 (14 OUNCE) CAN SWEETENED CONDENSED MILK
( NOT EVAPORATED MILK)
1 CUP CHOPPED WALNUTS
1 (6 OUNCES) PACKAGE SEMI-SWEET CHOCOLATE CHIPS (MORSELS)
Preheat oven to 350* (325* for glass dish).
In large bowl, mix flour, oats, sugar & margarine.
Reserving 1/2 cup oat mixture, press remainder into 13x9-inch baking pan.
Bake 10 minutes.
Pour sweetened milk evenly over crust.
Top with walnuts, chocolate chips (morsels) & reserved oat mixture;
press down firmly.
Bake 25 minutes or until lightly brown.
Cool.
Store covered at room temperature.
