Christian entertainment in all forms largely sucks.

Now that some people are likely typing like mad men/mad women, let me explain.
God created everything didn't He? He influenced countless things right? He is the author of/originator of Creativity and Imagination.
How it is used by each person shows the results of these things.
Hallmark channel tends to make "feel-good, happy-ending, sappy love, and Christmas movies."
Sadly, Lifetime does but has adopted the vomit-inducing LGB and T+ "entertainment".
99% of Christian movies are bad not b/c of the actors and writing in large, but the SAME tired stories, plots, arcs, and endings.
Most Christian music sucks. Same repetitive lines. More have at best 8 different lines and the chorus is repeated more 3/4 of the song.
Many of the people who "sing" can't sing. They do what's called "yell-singing" with very small vocal range or ability to carry a tune effectively. Auotune has been around for years and you can be sure a lot of them use it and won't tell the truth about it.
Songs, used to be, at large telling a story, emotions, feelings, a time in one's life, etc. Most Christian music is Me, Me, Me and I, I, I. God is not the focus. Worse yet are the Christian and God neutered entertainment. Where God or anything related to the Bible is never mentioned or shown.
I don't care if one of them reads this and gets "upset". You're not making Christian entertainment when you intentionally leave God out of it. In fact, I and countless others know full well how music is made these days. We know that certain chords, tones, and music styles can influence and produce "false good feelings" in a person so songs and albums are pumped out for profits.
Mercy Me's "I Can Only Imagine" is a really good Christian song. Far better than Toby Mac's pizza lyrics and that Mandisa woman's "music".
If you don't know there is Christian Rock, Christian Metal, and other Christian genres which don't get the spotlight at all.
Considering the lack of God in most Christian entertainment He knows who's doing right and who is not.

Agree with you on this @MedicBravo. Most Christian entertainment is derivative and bland. I don't get anything at all from most of it.

Here's something you may or may not like, but is certainly not cookie-cutter disposable music. At the height of Soviet domination in 1968, Arvo Part composed "Credo" this very brave and bold statement. The opening Latin lyric is "I believe in Jesus Christ" and borrows from Bach's prelude in C. The second lyric is "You have heard an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, but I say to you, Do not resist evil, go with love to your enemies". The whole thing descends into violence and chaos, and you can listen for yourself to find out how it ends.

It was only performed once in the Soviet Union. The composer and man of the performers paid a high price for defying the authorities. Listen with good headphones.

Entertainment, I disagree, music perhaps sometimes, but I listen to christian music for the worship found in my own soul. In a church setting, its supposed to be God we are sharing our faith through the music, who cares if the voices arent wonderful in your ears? I guarantee you that GOD finds any voice that praises Him in song is beautiful to Him. Not only is my voice not trained to be wonderful to you, most arent singing to please "you".

Most care about profits nothing more. If they TRULY wanted to make great Christian entertainment in all its forms:
Songs would have more than 6 lines and 4 being the chorus sung 20x and that is the "song".
99.99% of Christian movies have a "happy ending". Christian apocalypse is one that had a growing for some time and I have a list of such movies. Truth is, many lives have nothing of a "happy ending" Christian or not.
Afraid to curse and show the truth about mankind's ease at falling into sin and a point where all seems lost. None ever leave the viewer wondering if the person improved let alone lived.
Books? Please. Anyone can their own bible and sell it, In fact, the heretical Satan worshiper who has NO business in front of a church sells them with her NAME on the cover. She's not the author and that's where the author puts his/her name.
A high majority of it nothing but cookie-cutter, read profit first script, song, etc. made for making money.
If the plots are the same 99% of the time = BORING.
If the song is 99% chorus over and over = BORING and shows the people involved have little to no imagination or creativity.
Way to do a disservice to God and self while making a mockery of what Music is.

Pretty sure God being Who He is and how he created all, then the inspiration and culmination of Christian rock when done right like any Christian music IS more than sufficient.
Music is one of my favorite things and I've spent countless hours trying to find people and band which make consistent good music in this but without 99% of the lyrics being the same or the chorus being 99% with some "Yeah! God!" and "Praise Him" and all these other drag and drop verses.
In another attempt I have my car one one station right now. I hear at least 8 of the same songs EVERY DAY and they too are 99% chorus over and over and over and over and over.
A blind, albino, midget with a gimp let who's blind in one eye and baby arm could throw a dart at some words on a wall and come up with better lyrics.
Christian music does not have to come from only the Bible.

The person who wrote the book studied the subject extensively and the book includes interviews conducted with rock n roll musicians.

Your response shows that you did not read the book and it would have been impossible to have read the book that quickly in any case.

You need to be a humble and being humble starts with the mindset that you do not know everything and might be wrong about a lot of things.

You say that you can choose for yourself and do not need do anything.
However, God expects us to surrender to Him and to do everything that is according to His will and not our own. A Christian who takes the things of God seriously will not choose for themselves.

• The bible says that our hearts are deceitful according to Jeremiah 17:9 and therefore it is not wise to choose for yourself because you are more likely to make the wrong choice. God needs to be consulted on every aspect on our lives and we should do thorough research on everything.
• Proverbs 14:12 says, "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."

Other than the book, I did mention that there is a lot of information online about rock music including interviews on YouTube. However, your lack of humility will not allow you to do the research because it will show that you are wrong.

Rock music is senseless music that has been proven by medical practitioners to greatly impair the frontal lobe of the human brain and causes people who listen to it not to reason clearly. Rock music has its origin in voodoo demonic worship. You cannot mix the things of the devil with the things of God. Such music does not glorify God and is detrimental to a person's spirituality.

Overall, I see that you have a problem with pride. If you will not take advice from anyone, then it is better not to post.

Jeremiah 17 covers "The Depth of Judah's sin." specifically of the heart alone. The hear and mind together generally get the best results.
