INDONESIA: Christian village burnt to ground by neighbouring Muslims

The mainly Christian village of Horale was attacked on the night of 2 May by a mob from the neighbouring village of Saleman which is predominantly Muslim. The Muslims burnt down 120 houses, three churches and the village school. Four Christians were killed and 56 wounded. Fifteen hectares of crops were destroyed as well as 20 fishing boats and 2 motor-cycles.

Three of the four victims had their throats slit, but all were attacked in other ways as well. Mrs Welhelmina Pattiasina (aged 47) was first tortured, and her grand-daughter Yola (6) had her stomach cut open. Edward Unwaru (84) was burned to death after his throat had been cut. A fourth victim, Josef Laumahina (39) was cut and then burned. Horale village is home to 175 families, a total of around 2,300 people.

Dr Patrick Sookhdeo, International Director of Barnabas Fund, comments, "Horale is situated in a remote area on the island of Seram in Ma luku province. Such areas have seen a number of similar incidents over the last five months. Maluku province experienced intense anti-Christian violence between 1999 and 2001, and it is alarming to consider that this may be starting again. Please pray for a return to harmonious and peaceful relations."

* Pray there may be no further unrest. May the Lord give the Christians in this village the grace to forgive and be a witness to their persecutors.

I'm up to my necks with Muslims, just 2 years ago they killed some Christians by a church in Alexandria, Egypt.

You may be surprised but I'm not. Do you know what people are taught in some Muslim countries:

"If any person kills either a Jew or a Christian, they will receive eternal life."

Can you believe it?

I heard this on the 700 club in God channel. Do you know, what prophet Mohammed taught, "Whoever doesn't follow Islam should be killed." Now you see the reason why they are against Christians.

We should realize that this world is not our home. I really hope that Jesus comes as quickly as possible so that we can get out of this world.

I already know that brother, I live in Egypt, it's an Arabic country, the majority are muslims here.

Our lives have no price to them, that's what they are being taught. Correct.

So many Christian girls in Egypt were rapped by muslims cause to them harming Christians isn't sinful, it's okay to do whatever they please with Christians.

That's how Islam got to Egypt, it was a 100% Christian country after the Romans Era which ruled Egypt, they told the Egyptians they had 3 options for them:
1) Convert to Islam
2) Pay taxes
3) Be killed

can we actually fight these people? i feel so confused but as christains
we cant exactly go around ripping arms and legs off. is our message to be like Jesus to take what the world throws at us, take it for Jesus and carry our cross. because eternal life is just round the corner. i think we should pray for the killers. the dead are heros with Christ already.

Yes, those who have been martyred and lost their lives for the Gospel have their rest in Christ.... this is true.
And we should pray for those who are doing wrong.
But, we must also remember those who have had their lives shattered by this, those who are children, those who are right now in great pain, those who no longer have the comfort of a home to abide in and lay down their heads to sleep.... and we should care for them as if it were ourselves and our family ..... and remember them, to pray for them....
such violent actions leave scars and handicaps, and although our brothers and sisters believe, like you do, at least, they too, just as you do, must fight against the flesh, and stand up against the deceiver who would use this opportunity as a means to throw a cloud of doubt and fear into their lives..... so rather than dismiss them, earnestly pray.... as you would also like prayer and support if you and/or your family suffered at the hands of brutal heartless murderers. Agreed. This is how evil the Islam religion is. That is not to say that some radicals (muslims) are not converted by GOD's grace. Each particular conversion is a phenomenal miracle in itself considering the upbringing of the muslim believer. We just need to pray for the victims, the missionaries who get persecuted to death. We must also realize this is something that happens every day, do not be suprised. Propechy is being fulfilled as we speak and as we pray. The truth is, the times will only get tougher.

Its not 100% related, but in a way it is still end-times related. Its a good reminder of how Divine the Word of GOD is too. The proof of prophecies already fulfilled confirms this.

Amen to that brother, End time prophecies are being fulfilled everyday more and more,
I get so upset when muslims say that Jesus never died and that Judas died instead of him on the cross, as a punishment from God to him.

The funnier thing is, they say Jesus converted to Islam.(The lies keep going on and on)
It's hard when I was a little kid at school and having so many muslims picking on me and asking me so many questions that I knew no answer to and calling me names and telling me they're disguested from me because I'm Christian, I used to go home crying.

I never considered Islam, but I felt hated and avoided.
I shouldn't even bother myself and pray for forgiveness of muslims, but rather pray for the Christians they kill every day.

Greetings in Jesus mighty name, i have been hearing about the darkness covering Egypt and that it is against the law to even mention the name of Jesus there. A friends son was there on holiday and has a tatoo of Jesus on his upper arm (only the Lord can enlighten him about tatoos-so long as his heart stays open to Jesus-right!)anyway he was wearing a vest type of shirt and was approached by authorities and told very aggresively to cover it up or leave the country immediately.

However here is some seriously good news for that country, the Lord showed Rick Joyner in a vision that in the last days Egypt will turn so opposite to what she is now, and not only will His light and salvation totally cover that country, not only will Egypt be known as a country of such freedom to worship Jesus there, but the very country will be an altar to God! Many a seed has been sown by martyrs in Egypt, and God will not be mocked, those seed will bear fruit, much fruit!!

A turn around is coming where countries that have been dominated by communism and other ism's for centuries will experience such freedom to worship Jesus in an awesome and most noisy way, (they will be heard!) exactly as the Holy Spirit leads. The many people that have literally died in these countries, for their faith in Jesus are such precious precious seeds that have been sown into those countries' soil, AND BEAR FRUIT THEY WILL. The countries will now begin to xperience such total opposites, like mine (South Africa - and many others that have had the freedom for so long, will become dominated by darkness where our faith will be truly tested, because it will be against the law to carry a bible in public or have open meetings about Jesus. Rick Joyner urges the countries with freedom now, to never throw away any pamphlets ,flyers,notices or teachings no matter how small they are, if they have scripture on them or teachings about Jesus. We must collect them, because the Word will no longer be so freely and easily obtainable.

When America turns her back on Israel the only two countries that will still be on her side in the face of all her onslaughts from the rest of the world will be 1) Sweden (she will finally come out of her neutrality for the simple reason that she is just doing what is right and 2) Egypt - because the very creator and saviour of the world was there when He was but a babe, no place CAN EVER be the same when Jesus has been there, His light shone in that country then already and satan has tried very very aggresively to stamp it out but he does not succeed in the end, Egypt will be a beacon of pure light from the Son himself shining out on this shipwrecked world and offer many many, hope, peace, healing, comfort, love, salvation, joy - Egypt will offer the world Jesus in the end times, she will be a country many will WANT to stay in. Don't get me wrong Egypt is not the 'be all' at the end, but she sure has a great and awesome deliverance and destiny coming her way that NOTHING will be able to stop, it has been ordained by our Lord and so it will be - AMEN
