many of you know that our entertainment industries have changed dramatically in the last 20 years. It is now uncensored and a lot of time Amoral. Example, I remember on most tv shows in the 90's. Bad language and nudity was censored almost to the point of nonrecognition. Today, starting from the 2000's it is hard not to see suggestive themes of sexual content and explicit language. Video games, I feel helped began the tragedy. My focus on this thread are Video Game Ideas that are loyal to the Christian faith. Tell about what kind of Video Game plots, would you like to see and interesting biblical fiction and biblical non - fiction characters. I believe in the new world that Jesus will create, there will be entertainment that is still extremely entertaining and faithful.

thats interesting but, why not? I do agree that we will worship him forever. I also agree that nothing sinful will enter the kingdom. Video games themselves can also be a way of worship. As much as the world uses them to their ideas, couldn't it possibly be that God would use them for his. There are games out their that reference scripture and in it praises to the creator (God) are given. Video games are not sins themselves but tools. Or perhaps a better question would be, what will Christ's millennium Kingdom be like. How will we worship and praise him? Like books including the bible that are being used as tools of worship. Archangels:The Saga for example is a comic book series that first provided faithful entertainment to me, As well as the left behind series that became movies and computer games. Do you believe that God, would deny and discredit the faithful creativity of his children whom he loves more they could fathom? If he does than I will accept it and I will do as he wishes without problem. I just don't quite think he would. After all these items and tools of faith are exactly what uses to keep his kids like me and an unnumbered amount of others rooted and up lifted. If music, singing, dancing, reading, watching can glorify him why can't gaming? Or you can just show me the scripture where it says video games will not be permitted in the kingdom.

willie: This is a topic that I really question what men mearly 50 years old spend hours and hours on. These game's are high priced ! I know of a guy that buys several every month. So I will say I am old as dirt and don't favor these games at all. Spend some real live time doing something healthy, and with your family, if you are married.

Gaming is not glorifying to the Lord.....no matter how you dress it up.
It is a worldly pass-time that can become addictive very quickly, taking up hours of time

Willie, why would you want video games in heaven, what is the focus of your heart?
Jesus is all we will look on in glory....His worship, His praise.

what glorifies the Lord, except the Lord himself? Are not his glories founded upon his works? Are not his works told and acknowledge by existence and through existence in many ways? Like I said, although video games do take time, but honestly what doesn't. Video games are tools that are used to express Ideas and tell stories, showcasing them in a different way. Tools like books, movies, Dance and music. I do agree that the Lord is all we look on through his glory and worship. I do believe that all worship of him has the same intent to glorify him and his works and Love, but you must agree with me that not all worship is displayed in the same way no matter how you classify them. As well as praises differ in each personal relationship. Besides the world is the Lord's and everything in it Psalm 24. What you're saying is no different than what many said about hip-hop and look how God worked with Lecrae, Tedashii, Trip Lee, Flame, Canon, and etc...

this is a great question and I understand exactly what you mean, what the topic is about ideas to glorify the Lord through it. The mentioning of age is something I question, but if you want examples their are millions of people well over the age of fifty gaming around the world. in Japan there are arcades and gaming zones are filled with the elderly. Time with family is an awesome suggestion that billions are doing globally through gaming. The Wii genre is a physically revolution of entertaining the family. not only for entertainment, but for physical health as well where your body is the controller. Games like just dance, the Hip - Hop Experience, The Michel Jackson Experience and ect... Along with the Xbox Kinect and the Playstation move systems and their games. Not only through these physical directed genres but also video games all together are also known for improving hand and eye coordination and attention. Families all over the world love gaming together, my post was made to spawn Ideas to use this same tool of entertainment and story-telling for the Glory of God. There have been attempts, but.... they were not appealing to all audiences. I am not saying that we would twist the word of the Lord! Of course not! But that we simply showcase more of his word and the history in the Bible. for those who enjoy combative stories like 300, lets showcase the books of Judges, Samuel, Exodus, and revelation and the many battles in them that Glorified God through the children of Israel and the gentiles. For those who love drama showcase the books of ruth, Daniel and Ezra. Those who like tragic drama Jeremiah, lamentations ect... like movies and dances do except faithfully to the Lord as worship to inspire and amaze his children.

A game I have been thinking of would be an action/adventure featuring Samson and the Spirit Of the Lord. Notice how the word gives exciting details about his life in Judges 13 - 16
Starting with the appearances of the Angel to his parents.
The Birth Of Samson
Samson's Married Life and the death of his father in-law and wife
The Issues with the Philistines and him being handed over to them by his brethren
Samson and Delilah
and the three battles before his enslavement
The finale - his hair regrows and destroy the supporting pillars of the house and kills all the phillistines

since the story is relatively short i'm thinking open sandbox with side missions

probly do a what if chronicle with free roam
what if Samson survived
what if delilah or his first wife bore him a son
talk about his life and how he shared his father's strengths and mission

this would still be relevant to the story because I do remember a scripture about other stories and other people God has performed in that are not inside the bible please give me a week to find it, Or help me out if you know what I'm referring too. If I can't find the scripture in 7 days this post will be edited or removed.

I was asking my partner the same question, why, where are they ?
I'm not a gamer, average wii or ps3 time 2-3 sessions a month if not busy. I enjoy exercising ( no yoga ) When my physical activities are low, turn it on and get a good sweat. I mostly use the wii or ps3 for Internet browsing.

I would never buy a Christian video game with violence , even if it's based on a true story. History is there for us to Learn from not to be entertained, especially if people died. I Doubt it would make much money, seeing it would be no different to the secular ones.

I'd prefer a bible trivia game.

Chronicles 9:20 "Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, in the prophecy of Ahijah the shilonite and the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?" although these are not their own individual books in the bible. They are clearly in the bible simply by stating their stories. Example, Ahijah the Prophet was the very prophet who God used to deliver the message that the Lord would snatch the kingdom by giving Jeroboam 10 tribes from out of Solomon's hands because his heart had turned away from the Lord and the people began to worship other Gods(foreign idols) In 1Kings 11: 30 - 34. Ahijah the prophet himself was not a scribe but, since this all came to pass in the old testament and the Bible was not completed or published. All things concerning the Prophets and events were written in their own individual books at the time. This not only makes sense but, also disproves a myth thats been floating around for quite some time:lightbulb. THERE ARE NO MISSING BOOKS IN THE BIBLE

You have good questions, and I just want to tell you my friend... in Heaven we will have new bodies. We will be built and redesigned by the ULTIMATE CREATOR to glorify the Lord. You will be overwhelmed with love and praise that anything you know today will be obsolete. The devil is the master of deception and will tempt you to want worldly things in Heaven because he has no place there. It's ok to moderately play selective video games here on earth, but know that video games and high scores do not line up with the Lord. We must know that our time is short here on earth and there are MANY more things we could be doing to better ourselves, along with seeking the Lord, His kingdom, spending time with family, fellowship, enjoying his creation (nature), etc.

I'D LIKE TO CLARIFY ONE THING, this thread is NOT about what will be in heaven or me suggesting that there will be video games in heaven. Any post related to these said topics are responses to questions I have been asked. Please if you do not understand that this is an evangelistic topic then leave this thread please. I am fully aware of the uncertainty of the thing that will be, but we must be aware of the things of the now. I am talking of the mission of the commission being express through the entertainment of video games like it has been expressed through music, dance, movies, and etc. Now is the time to produce good fruit, heaven will come in God's time but right now, lets see what we can do for him.

In my opinion a Christian should not own a wii or ps3 or an xbox nor play videogames, some old fashion cardboard family games excepted.

Same with kids watching seemingly "innocent" cartoons but there is most always occult symbolism hidden and or witchcraft (ye shall be as gods) messages in the cartoons!

I respectfully disagree with you Dutch, there is room in a Christian's life for entertainment as long as you keep the Lord first and be selective with your entertainment to protect your temple. In addition, do not let your entertainment lead you to sin or consume most of your time, otherwise it becomes your god. Playing video games can be fun, challenging and good exercise (Wii) and there is nothing wrong with that. However, playing video games with killing, guts and gore, cursing such Grand Theft Auto in my opinion is harmful to your temple... but to say Christians shouldn't own a PS3, Xbox, or Wii is a little overboard; but I do respect your opinion.
