Christmas did not even change its name when it was "sanctified."
It celebrates the death and resurrection of any number of gods, Mithra, who was also called "The Christ", being one.
The cranberry strands on the christmas tree originally represented Mithra's guts that he strung on an evergreen when he sacrificed himself.
The gold and silver balls represent the testicles of another pagan god.
I can see where that's a celebration of life.
Easter was a day for SACRIFICING BABIES.
Many "christian" churches to this day use eggs dyed red to symbolize the death and resurrection of christ.
Never mind those eggs were originally to celebrate the fertility goddess in her many guises and the red dye was originally the blood of sacrificed babies.
God gave us festivals to celebrate.
Easter was NOT one of them.
In fact, celebration of easter was one of the downfalls of the Herods.
Christ did NOT celebrate easter, although it was an established holiday at the time of His life.
Christ celebrated the Passover, which was already established and which He consecrated as representing Himself and His death and resurrection.
DO NOT LEARN THE WAYS OF THE PAGAN.
Follow God.
Do what God said to do.
We already have a festival to celebrate Christ's resurrection.
It's called Passover.
God says we were to keep it FOREVER.
And when we are baptized we celebrate His birth.
Did God not say when Jesus was baptized "On this day I have begotten You"?
Bless up.
