Am I alone in finding this a depressing time of year?
I am on a tight budget (on benefits due to illness) so for the past couple of years I have not celebrated Xmas except for buying my son presents. This year I wanted to try and make the effort so I have bought small gifts for my family but I am running out of steam already. My family is divided because my mum and dad divorced and had new families and I haven't seen most of my half-siblings for over a year - they live some distance away and are much younger than me.
In addition, my son is spending Xmas with his Dad and his new wife - we separated many years ago before I became a Christian.
On top of that, my Christian friends are either away in other countries or busy with their own families for several weeks.
