Celebrating Christmas.
Romans 14 has agood deal to say about accepting one another when tere is the question about passing judgement on what one person things is weak. Celebrating Christmas fits into Romans 14:1-8. Please read these verses or this might not make an sense. Even though verse 2 and 3 are refering to eating meat it is easy to insert Christmas for the issue. Perhaps verse 4. is a the real main point, "Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, gor the Lord is able to make hin stand." 5. "One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind." 6. "He observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God." 7."For not one of us lives for hinself, abd not one dies for himself;" 8."for if we live, we live for the Lord, or is we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lords." NASBWe celebrate Christmas, but somewhat differently. The focus is Jesus Christ and the day we do not know but the 25th od December is such a widely celebrated to remember Jesus Christ Birthday. There is no other time of the year that places like WalMart, K Mart, and many, many store have the Message of Jesus Christ in back ground music. This is a time to witness, and people are more open to hear and sing about Jesus. So we take advantage of the worldy custom's and male Jesus Shine for our family and friends. In the past when our children were smaller or living at home we had huge posters the family made saying "HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS, made birthday cakes for Jesus, and Jesus was always the center of our celebration. We have read Scripture and our ideas were many with JESUS as our celebration. We are certain this was what the Lord was pleased with. There are many ways to bring in the true people of faith in history who also celebrated Jesus hundred of years ago. To argue about if this is a wrong or right way to celebrate Christmas is something each of us have to pray, and seek the will of the Lord on. If all Christmas is giving gifts and you feel that the Lord can be highlited and praised so be it. If you feel for some reason that you need to make a strong stand against celebrating christmas and the Lord is blessed in your stand, so be it. Which ever way we believe we are not to judge each other. If you are not in agreement with your spouse then ask is you two can pray together and both of you can see the Lords will on this. My experience is generally men won't pray as their mind is made up. Think of a way to make this time of year a time to celebrate the end of the year.I hope this gives something to think about....Blessings to all farout
