Just want to know if anyone else here on this site believes in going to church, I surely do.

I don't know how to do the polls, sorry.

Most definnitely! Going to church is a very important part of a Christian's life and growth in our walk to Christ likeness.

I heard a story about someone who hadn't been going to church for awhile. The pastor came by and didn't say a word to him. The man had a fireplace and a nice fire in it.

The pastor got up and took the thongs and took a coal and placed it on the edge of the fireplace. The coal was red hot, but then the coal got less and less hot until it was black.

Then, the pastor took the coal with the thongs and placed it near the fire...not in it..just near it. The piece of coal started to get red hot again. The pastor placed the thongs back where he got them and left. The man understood the pastor's silent sermon.

I do know that church is important. In the Bible it says "Iron sharpens Iron". I love the fellowship, the corporate worship, and the sermon. I would be like that little coal if I didn't meet together with other believers!

Im His LOve

Thank you for letting me know that there are some here who still believes in going to church. It encourage my soul.

Giggles4God I heard that story before, awesome.

I used to attend institutionalized, religious gatherings, but I soon grew weary of the lack of genuine fellowship (due mostly to the fact that I never could figure out how to fellowship with the backs of other people's heads), so I sought something better.

So what have you found Swordman?

I belong to a church that functions like the body of Christ. It's a not perfect church - but then again, it will only be perfect in heaven won't it?

Swordman I am sorry that you felt alone in the church, or maybe got hurt over it. Like Renee said, "church is not perfect" but it is important to have christian fellowship with one another.

Just like talk Jesus it is a christian fellowship, but you will also find some negative things here, but you will also find good things here too.
Where people are there will be problems arise no matter where you are at.

I know church can not be your God because you need to have that personal relationship with our Lord Jesus, but having a church to go to can also help you.

Swordman hope you find a place that you feel welcome and feel part of it.

God Bless, Trish

We ARE the Church.....

I had to laugh...

I like providing others with laughter.

One thing is for sure: The institutional church model isn't the only valid model for the gathering of believers, contrary to the belief of many.

Honestly I did not started this thread to be a debate discussion. The thread started out as "Just want to know if anyone else here on this site believes in going to church?"

I understand new comers getting off the subject, not knowing there are thread that are for debate about the church.

Please folks lets not make this thread into a debate discussion.

Thank you, Trish

I love my family, I meet them in church, email them on TalkJesus. How else will I recognize them in heaven?

My difficulty

I have been to many different 'Christian' denominations. Most claim to be exclusively 'correct', doctrinally.
I now go most often to our local Salem Baptist church because they seem less interested in politics than with praising God, as it should be.

Johnpaul glad you found a place to go to with others and worship God.

May God continue to bless you, Trish

Church is the place where we experience a bit of heaven! We are family and we love and worship the Lord and hear from Him together! We learn from each other and share our burdens and our joys!

Church is where the Lord Gardener plants us to grow in Him!

One of my favorite things out of the whole week to do is go to church on Sunday. I will be looking forward to it tomorrow, since I am stressed, and being around the people I have known for so long in Christ, helps me unwind and take a breather, and prepare for the next week.

I love going to church and look forward to the Sunday service all week long. It's pretty much the highlight of my week.
