Hey all, As some of you may or may not know, my husband and I have been searching for a church since moving to a different state a year ago, we have been praying for the Lord to lead us to one.
And I know some of you prayed for us in this matter and I thank you so much. After attending different ones over the past few months, some of which on the invitation of others.
So one year later I am happy to say the Lord has lead us to a good church. We actually found it by reading an advertisement in a newspaper, immediately as soon as I read that it taught a verse by verse scripture study as part of the sermon, I knew the Lord wanted us to go there. This is what my husband and I were looking for, so we went and checked it out.
We have been several times since, and feel the Lord drawing us back to this church. It is a non-denominational, Christ focused, bible based church, and the pastor does not compromise his message to appease the congregation. The people have been welcoming and seem genuine. I believe I have been given a discerning spirit aswell which has helped in the process of finding a church. This is a fairly new church, and is growing and we feel we want to be part of their family and this is where the Lord has led us. And in time I am hoping that the Lord will guide and use me in their ministry. I am not sure what yet, but feel strongly about it and am excited.
So my testimony is that it is important to be patient and wait on the Lord for things in His timing and not to choose a church just because the praise and worship is awesome (one I went to was fantastic, but the sermon not so good). or they have 'cool' events and things of that nature. I felt I was being impatient to find a church immediately and was getting despondent when it just didn't happen. I thank the Lord for answering our prayers and for His guidance.
