College Forces Christian Groups Off Campus

Christian student groups are being forced off campus by a major college. Vanderbilt University has instated a policy that requires religious student groups to accept leaders regardless of their faith, even requiring Christian groups to allow atheist leadership. The school has outrageously compared these Christian groups to segregationists.

The ACLJ is advising Christian student groups, concerned alumni, and parents; we need your voice in support of their religious liberty. Join the ACLJ in calling on Vanderbilt to reverse this discriminatory policy today.

Petition for Students’ Religious Rights

To: Vanderbilt University
You have compared Christian student groups to segregationists because they want the same rights as other Christian organizations in America — the same rights the Supreme Court unanimously affirmed this year — the right to use faith-based criteria when selecting leaders. We demand that you immediately reverse your new policy that discriminates against these students.

That why Christians should stop enrolling at this school. The only way to hurt an institution is to attack their money. Let's see how quick that policy changes.
If your values can not be respected they do not deserve your money. Go to institutions that respect religious freedom. Would they ask a jewish club do do this ?

Collage is so expensive right now, I wouldn't even bother going. Not to mentuen all the unnecessary gunk they try to cram down people's neck like the evolution theory and whatnot.

Maybe that's just what this university needs? Just maybe the atheist or whatever leadership comes in would be introduced to the Truth? Some planting seeds and some watering? Satan lost the war but remember that God, our Savior can use this messed up situation to bring Himself Glory and I say Praise God for this challenge.
I love you guys.

It would be a better idea for someone without a relationship with Jesus Christ be led to Him by those in these leadership positions. To be honest, if I started a Christian club at my community college, putting someone in leadership who has no idea of the principles of the Bible or does not have a relationship with Him will ultimately fail the group.

Hello my young sister,
You may have missed the point here? If the university makes this club accept a leader who does not believe who our Lord and Savior is, what a great way to introduce him or her to Jesus! Moreover, if the person doesn't like the great fellowship and the Father's Love shinning off of His children's faces, he can simply move on. If the group is doing God's work and they're staying within God's will and praying all kinds of prayers, if the atheist, Muslim or Hindu in not of the elect of the Lord, they would just move on but at least the seeds of God's Love will have been sown. Remember that light cannot and will not mix with darkness.
Your are loved and I love you very much.

I guess I will have to agree to disagree there then. :)
Love you as well!

Here is the thing if the leader is atheist or something else and the group starts to do an opening prayer is it going to be offensive to the leader and be required to stop? as it is against there rights or something crazy... i could see this going bad..

Yes, you are correct and Hello to you. Remember though...When God's Word goes out, it goes out for His purpose and it accomplishes His purpose and He cannot do anything that is bad. Isn't that great? Remember again...His Word is Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior for all on this earth who would receive Him.

I doubt that fleeing the battleground is the way to win the war. There's probably enough money at Vandy from grants and endowments that they can do without whatever tuition money would be lost. Why not hold meetings in public places near the campus - far enough to be off-campus, but near enough to be noticed?

What works for us can sometimes work against us. And, vice versa. Unless Christians are banned from the University campus which is unlikely, it opens the door for Christians to lead groups they would not normally be given the opportunity. Christians may be called unyielding, but those against God aren't innocent either.

That's true, I just don't understand why Christians cry when the secular institute they are a part of goes against them. It should be expected and back up plans must always be set up. Like you suggested they could always meet off campus.

Good thing I'm not from that school, I'd start a rally. Lol
