I am going to ask you all a question and I want you to tell me what it is talking about to you in your own words or using the bible respective.

Our Vacation Bible School theme is Colossal Coaster World
Facing Fear, Trusting God 2 Timothy 1:7 this week.

what does facing fear mean to you?

why do we need to trust God when we are facing fear in our life?

Fear can be debilitating. Fear can cause mental, emotional and physical breakdown. Fear can cause one to do other than what should be done.

But....

1 John 4:18
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Through Christ fear can be defeated and we can be bold and courageous in the face of anything.

Fear will hinder the work of God but love will empower it.

why do we need to trust God when we are facing fear in our life?

Simply put, because faith is pleasing to GOD and fear is not from GOD, but from Satan.

I agree with revbrad and Chad.
Although, knowing why I need to or why I should doesn't always mean I will. But when it comes to trusting God, for me it comes from a need that I have...not a rule that I should...but a need that I have to be met. I NEED God, without Him I would go utterly insane.
I'm the kind of person who wants to know what's going on, why, how, when, where, etc. When I can't figure something out, it absolutely drives me crazy! Yet, how much of life actually makes sense? Hardly anything at all, really. And when things don't make sense in life, the only thing I can do is trust God. Or go absolutely crazy trying to figure it all out.
