Sometimes I know many fell like this,we struggle through life, most of us can say at least to some dergree that we are doing our best BUT! I know,I have not only said this, but have done this as well.In my earlier messeges I wanted to lite a fire under us.Now that I have,or have not done this,I want to share with you of a God,who not only loves us,but understands us! And we all want is proff of this, saying this to someone does not make it so! Isaiah 1:18 says COME NOW,and let us reason together,Says the Lord. though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow; Now the question we have to ask ourselves, is what is reason? Many have different views of this word. Of all the definations of this word Logical seems the most correct for me.What is logical to understand with our Lord? He does not play games,he gets to the point,he has direct purpose in what he says and does,he make no excuses for what he says or does, and through all of this,he is LOVING!!, kind!! understanding,he has great mercy and grace, and!! He always tells the truth. If we do the same, then we are his children! Many want to make our Jesus complicated,do this but don't do that, say this but don't say that,go here, but do not go there.Sound familair??What most of us want,is peace of mind,we are so tired of worring, not just about ourselves, but others as well.We hear scripture, supporting, but sometimes it still does not hit home, easy for you to say,but not logical to me! Most of us have a great foundation in Christ! We know what Jesus did for us,and we know why he did it.So since we know why can't we show our faith in a way, that merits favor with those we talk to?To be blunt and very frank with you,ONLY YOU know FOR SURE WHY! Each caterpillar has its own cocoon,it does not share this with any other creature, our skin is our own,and no matter how much we would like to step out of it,and be in anothers,we cannot. So we have to have reason in how to deal with our flesh. We have to go to a room by ourselves, admit what and who we have become, and decide on doing something about it.No words from anyone will change how we act,we have to be willing to reason with ourselves first, then with the Lord, for he already knows us,and there is little point to con Jesus. We have put many different kinds of masks on in our life already. When going before the Almighty,no mask can hide us from him.DO, or do not, this is the Word, strive, meaning do the very best you can, like at you job in the world! try? make an attempt? do something you are not sure is going to work? then if it does well I was just lucky? Life in Jesus is not about luck, nor is Jesus about try,Jesus is about doing, and as his children,he expects us to do this as well. What would look bad to you, looks bad to the Lord as well. Some believe drinking and smoking are out right sins, they show scripture,1 Cor 6:19 your body is a temple, see!! it is sin they say!! What you allow yourself to do is not sin if you can bless what you do.But let us reason together in something as well.Would you listen to a man or woman who drinks or smokes, telling you how the Lord freed them over worldy passions and concerns? Can you picture Jesus doing these things before you? I do not judge any!! All I am doing is reasoning with you.To accomplish anything in life,we have to begin somewhere, the point is to begin! It will not happen overnight, but love is not accomplished in one day either,it took 6 for the Lord! God wants to reason with you,let him,be honest with yourself, and let him LOVE you,and teach you,and encourge you and help you! Let him do these things,or you will never come out of your cocoon and become the beautiful butterfly in him he wants for you to become. To live in Christ takes time,I have not come out of my cocoon fully yet myself,ah!! but I do see it leaving me,and this encourges me to continue. Give yourself a reason,to continue,do not beat yourself up so much on what you lack, but rather reason with God as to what he has already done with you! You have come so far my brother, sister! Do not stop now, because your flesh does not feel like like it,the enemy deals with feeling, ours can get hurt as fast as we allow them to! You will always do what you want! If you want to go right,no one can make you go left! Come let us reason together, let us fulfil our LOVE in Jesus by becoming like Jesus.By doing this my fellow co-workers in Christ we fulfil a passage of scripure!! YES WE DO!! ALL BY YOUSELF!! Through our Jesus in you!! John 8:31-32 IF yOU abide!! and that is what we intend to do!! then are you truly disciples of mine!! Which we are working to do!! and what?? YOU will KNOW the TRUTH!,and by knowing the truth!! indeed!! and the TRUTH shall set you free!! Free from the cocoon, and alive in our Precious Jesus! May this bless you,and encourge you,and give you the hope you have needed to press on to that LASTING Truth!!

Many want to make our Jesus complicated, do this but don't do that, say this but don't say that, go here, but do not go there. Sound familiar??

What most of us want, is peace of mind; we are so tired of worrying, not just about ourselves, but others as well. Each caterpillar has its own cocoon, it does not share this with any other creature, our skin is our own, and no matter how much we would like to step out of it, and be in another’s, we cannot. So we have to have reason in how to deal with our flesh. We have to go to a room by ourselves, admit what and who we have become, and decide on doing something about it.

God wants to reason with you, let him, be honest with yourself, and let him LOVE you, and teach you, and encourage you and help you! Let him do these things, or you will never come out of your cocoon and become the beautiful butterfly in him he wants for you to become.

To live in Christ takes time, I have not come out of my cocoon fully yet myself, ah!! but I do see it leaving me, and this encourages me to continue. Many times Christ did not use kindness when talking to the Pharisees or speaking of false teachers who deceive many. I think you are speaking of believers coming together in kindness and reasoning together, though.

Jesus did, however, use utmost patience and kindness when speaking to unbelievers (the rich young ruler for example)and those outside the church (2 Tim 3:7) and to the babes in Christ.

From time to time He also showed displeasure to His disciples (Don’t you understand either! (Matt 15:16) Or when He rebuked Peter and said ‘Get thee behind me Satan.” (Mark 8:31-33) He wasn’t calling Peter Satan, but rather Paul’s attempt to reprimand Jesus. Each situation has to have a measure of discernment and constant prayer in a reprimand or gentle guidance.

It saddens me that unfortunately, with the written word in a forum, the reader can not see the tears from the writer in an attempt to get them to understand sin, God’s wrath, His forgiveness and the urgency to turn from sin, nor can they see the eyes that question ‘does that make sense?” or the gentle prodding of read this or that verse for understanding. Constant prayer for the writer of the written word as well as for the reader must be utmost in the presenter’s mind. And the encouragement you bring is outstanding as usual.

I, however, have to disagree with you on one point here (that is if I understand you correctly):

Some believe drinking and smoking are out right sins, they show scripture, 1 Cor 6:19 your body is a temple, see!! it is sin they say!!

What you allow yourself to do is not sin if you can bless what you do.[ /QUOTE]

Smoking and drinking ARE out right sins. I may not be understanding what you say by your next statement of “what you allow yourself to do is not sin if YOU CAN BLESS what you do.”?? but I will give you what I understand with maybe a little bit of reasoning

WE can’t bless anything, good or bad. However, God can and does use EVERYTHING to His glory to those who love Him. Like your example of the drinker or smoker…. He can and does use even this to His glory. Maybe not to all those watching the believer whose weakness is smoking and drinking; but for the believer them self.

This is an addiction, a sin. The eyes of the smoker or drinker can be opened to their own judgment of others, their own arrogance, their own piety and self righteousness; by the definite abuse to the body God gave. Their condemnation of those around them, all the while they continue in sin, is brought by God’s insight and conviction (as well as by others who care deeply). Continuing in sin even though they may see cleansing to their character, does not, however, let them off the hook to the consequence of their sin (cancer, liver disease etc etc.)

With eyes now opened, they no longer can condemn others BUT can see the battle many struggle with as they finally see their own feeble attempt to conquer sin on their own. Faith comes in for the believer, knowing that God will be their strength to overcome even what they them self believe can not be defeated. And, like you said above, more times than not, it doesn’t happen over night; though I must say, however, sometimes it does if there is a greater purpose. Sometimes, I wish it was all over night, though, then there would not be such a struggle.

Thank You Sun, I do understand what you are saying, but love to me does not judge what one allows himself,or herself to do. example? please read rom 14:13-23 Some consider eating meat a sin as well. These weights are as heavy to us as we allow them to be.You have every right to judge them as sin to you. But another may not.It is not my purpose to tell people what they should or should not do,only to point to the Word, and let them judge for themselves. When one is need,do I say I cannot help because you have a flaw to me? I cannot do that. For there was a time in my life, that had I been judged that way,I would have never come to Jesus, because what drew me to him,was another who did not condemn me,he loved me in Christ. This is all I wish to do.Blessing.

I see what you are saying with Romans 14. Kind of like with Luke 18 where Jesus is talking to those who believe themselves to be righteous and viewed others with contempt.

I was hoping you were not talking about things like, Matthew 15:19; Mark 7:21 etc where Jesus plainly calls sin sin. Even with these, I believe we can be kind in pointing out sin, especially when they ask and want to learn. However, in pointing out sin to anyone, MUST not be with any sort of contempt or better than thou attitude. We have all sinned and fall short except for Christ.

Not helping others who have a flaw, wasn’t what I was trying to say and am very sorry it may have come through that way. I, too, was helped along the way with one who did not condemn like the Pharisees but rather beamed with Christ.

I guess, what I really wanted to get through, in part, was that no matter the sin, God can and does use (maybe uses our struggle) it to His glory. Maybe not so much for anyone else but for the believer searching for truth. For example, the Christian who smokes who used to condemn the drug user for their addiction; only to have their eyes opened to their own addiction to cigarettes. Kind of humbles a person to say the least but it also brings with it compassion and understanding to the drug user by the believer. (if that makes any sense?)

I understand Sun!! i know you have great love in your heart, but to new people I just want to be clear to them. You see back when I was young in the Lord,I was only to happy to judge others who were doing what I did.Not a very smart way of showing love,I wanted to play judge instead,LOl it is easier to do this! After I got some strong discipline which I really needed, but did not want,I have a better understanding of what love is. Yes,and leave the judgeing to the Lord! I found our for myself by pointing out flaws in others,it may discourge them, and that would mean I could cause another to stumble,I know many believers caused me to stumble because they wanted to be right.Kind of like being in a hole and someone comes along with a rope, and throws it in the hole to you,and says hope this helps. It would if they would tie the other end to where they are at, so you could pull yourself out! Help like this ah we do not need.So I just wanted to be clear to new people is all. Thanks again for your love in the Body of Christ!!
