Connecticut School Shooting - prayer needed ASAP

Today (Friday 14th of December 2012) at 9:30 a.m. Eastern time, a very deranged young man carried two guns into two classrooms at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut USA and opened fire killing twenty young children and seven adults including his mother, who was teaching one of the classes. The children were all under ten years of age - one of the worst school shootings in American history. The families that were torn apart by this tragedy are in desperate need of lots of prayer.

I have thought about this incident numerous times since first hearing about it. On one hand, we had an intelligent young man unable to cope with whatever problems loomed in his mind. On the other hand, people who were completely incapable of defending themselves became the target of his aggression. This young man did not challenge the Army, the National Guard, or even the Police. He took it out on young children who were not his match even at their best. When threatening powers loomed, he killed himself to avoid accountability. He even used his brother's (presumably High School ID) to avoid responsibility.

At the end of the day, Mr. Lanza was hurting and he wanted others to hurt as well. Again, he did not rush a squad of soldiers, policemen, or people who could defend themselves. He chose to attack the weak, not the strong. His solution to Life was suicide, but why suffer alone when he can make others suffer, too? Yep, he was crying for attention, but he did not want attention or answers that Attention demands. He wanted a way out of his misery and wanted to be remembered as a nobody who should have been a somebody. Phil 4:8

I wonder how many of the church tried to reach him before he came unravelled and commited such a crime .!!DID THE CHURCH SEE it and just turn their back as many do when they deal with the hurting and wounded of spirit..we will never know but we can step up and be more mindful of the needs of those around us that are hurting and lost..ive got a 15 yr old grandson that refuses to let any one in ..Ive stood in His corner brought him into my own home and stood between him and court more than once ..now it is in Gods hands alone .he has nothing to do with my wife or my self and is abusive to his mom when she is a round ..a real mess..BUT MY GOD HAS MY GRANDSON IN HIS HANDS..all i can do is trust for Gods best for him..and so when i see this type of thing in the news i Pray Dear Lord have i done enough........!Rev

Being angry and being consumed by his anger is what became Satan's undoing. It seems Mr. Lanza kept mainly to himself. A former school acquaintance of his has a background in psychology and said that quiet people slip under the radar because nobody pays attention to them. The news media paid attention after the fact. Prior to that, he was just another face in the crowd. What specifically led to his royal temper tantrum is academic. At the end of the day, angry people who become consumed by their anger will self destruct on some level.

Speaking of Satan, Jesus described him as a thief and a destroyer: he steals our joy and destroys our soul by finding ways to keep us separated from the loving and protective arms of Jesus. The worst part is we can't see that directly. I guess the only thing you can do for your nephew is give him a hug, and tell him that despite being a royal pain, you still love him for who he is and that he is worth it. The more I think about it, the more convinced I am that Adam Lanza was under intense demonic control. He'd joined the goths, a sub-culture of young people who gravitate toward morbid music and dress the devil loves.

It's very possible. If so, he did exactly as his Master did: attacking the weak (humanity) and taking as many as he can knowing that he is going to die anyway. The worse part about Dec 14th is it was a normal day with normal expectations. In theory, what could prevail against it? Some people suspect that the whole shooting was planned so that Obama can easily legislate strict gun control. I would not rush to opinion that it is so, though I believe that evidence for such can be found without relative difficulty, though if such evidence is true evidence, we may never know until we get to heaven, which would then probably be useless information as we could not relay that information to our brethren on earth, and we who are in heaven would probably have little use for said information except to quell our own curiosity.

I am concerned most about the fact that most people are rushing toward banning violent video games and so called assault weapons, when the mass majority of these shooting seem to be reinterated by either a failure to teach morality or over medication followed by isolationism and pro-death messages, weather subliminal or unsubtle. Although I fully support placing stricter limits on how violent entertainment can legally be, I cannot support a complete ban on violence in media entirely as many would utlizse this to ban the bible biased upon some of it's more violent recordings, such as Gideans 300 and David vs Goliath. When King Jesus rules over the earth, then I can support a complete ban on violent media, though such a stance would probably be completely unrelivent at that particular time due to God's holiness disallowing sin to enter his presence thus leading back to why mankind needed a savor to begin with.

The ultimate solution to this problem is to bring everyone on earth to accept Jesus as their lord and savor, however, because not everyone will go along with this, I'd suggest placing much better security in the schools, limiting violence in the media, and enacting much better programs to teach morality in the schools. Perhaps we could take the time we would be having kids learn about the theory of evolution to teach morality instead, as current trends seem to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the evolution theory is more religious than factual.

I don't think we should be looking for a reason as to why this man did this and certainly not accuse the president, and I know you were just saying what you heard Acebopata so this isn't directed towards you, just the people who think that. I think what we should take from this is evidence of what is near. The world is indeed falling apart and soon we will all need to be rescued. I pray for those families and those poor children but I know they are with God.

The saddest part, in the next 5yrs this guy's name will be a household name. I say columbine and everyone can say the names of the murderers. It's never the victims who are talked about or remembered. Someone's going to write a book,start a fan club, make t-shirts, make a movie, include his name in a song etc. Unstable attention seeking people know they will be remembered forever, so the cycle of terror continues. Someone suggested when these things happen the media should not disclosed a photo or name, and I agree. People will be less motivated when they know they'll be forgotten.
Evil is always glorified, excused and rewarded in this society. This same society writes the textbooks and educates your kids imagine that.

It's the mentality of who has the biggest weapon wins. Look up the name of Charles Whittaker. The Austin City Police resorted to pressing into service anyone with a rifle in an effort to keep him distracted so they could get to the tower in relative safety.

I'm not going to say Obama was behind these shootings, but what I will say is, he is a hypocrite. He stood before our nation and wiped his eyes and spoke how he was grieved over these children knowing that he promotes women killing their unborn children every day through abortion. I don't know which is more sick, a devil possessed man going in a school and killing children he didn't even know or a woman murdering the child growing inside of her! And Then Obama tries to hide behind God's Holy Word by trying to quote scriptures when he promotes every ungodly thing the Bible specifically speaks against. What a joke. He's a chameleon that changes to whatever religion the majority is around him. If it's christian then he is a christian if it's muslim then he is a muslim. If this isn't a wolf in sheep's clothing then I don't know what is. Who wants a man that either can't stand up for what he believes in or don't know what he believes to be over our country? Truth be known is the Lord is coming soon and we are going to see worst things than what we have already seen. We just need to stay prayed up, packed up, and ready to go up when all is said and done. One thing I'd like to know is just how accurate the media is concerning the shooter's mother. It wouldn't surprise me if the had she never did the things with her son the media is saying she did. Reason I say this is a combination of the mother being dead, thus being unable to testify or confirm certain evidence to be true and the recent media failure to accruratly report what went on in Benghazi claiming it was a riot caused by a internet video when it really was a terrorist attack.

Regardless, it is a terrible tragedy and we should do everything with in reason to try and prevent it from occurring again.

On the topic of the elimination of private ownership of firearms, there is a significant difference in responsibility between owning a rifle to hunt a wild animal and owning a weapon specifically intended for mass slaughter. While a number of Americans profess a faith in God, a good number also profess a faith in Samuel Colt, leaving a backup in case one fails.

I believe President Obama was genuinely shocked by the incident at Sandy Hook. He is going to behave as a President is expected to behave for such an incident. On the other hand, Vice President Cheney shot the Easter Bunny on the White House lawn in front of children during an egg roll contest in 2006. This gag was inspired by Cheney accidentally shooting Harry Whittington two months earlier. Everyone thought the Easter Rabbit stunt was quite funny.

The issue here is care and control of a privately owned firearm. By law, Adam Lanza was too young to own or carry in public the Bushmaster rifle. And, there is the issue of procurement of a large quantity of ammunition. And, there is the issue of a young man taking his anger out on children who were not a physical match. The only people who now the answer to these issues are now deceased.

I am not defending the right to own or ban such a weapon, but having it in one's possession means more responsibility and therefore more careful planning. Suggesting that teachers should be armed for teaching Elementary school classes is absurd as well. Purchasing bullet proof school backpacks is also absurd. Why not just dress Johnny or Suzie in Kevlar clothing? The USA prides itself on freedom. Do you call that freedom? That's more like China or Russia where armed soldiers patrol the streets in case the natives get restless. That's a siege mentality. Is that what American really wants?

If you want freedom, introduce every one you meet to the Prince of Peace. Even then, some won't be happy with being introduced. If we are in the End Times, then things only get worse for Christians, not better. Get used to that concept. I've never found a shortage of issues to pray for no matter how trivial or important and whether you like the person or not. Speaking of mass destruction, Christians who do nothing to prevail against the kingdom of Satan are just as guilty as Adam Lanza. Pray for Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong-un, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and yes, pray for your own leadership at all levels.

This is a reply to Shutterbug, Adam Lanza didn't own the guns his mother did. And I agree we do need to pray for all world leaders, soldiers, and law enforcement and I do pray for them. If they would surrender to God then the decisions they made would effect the world in a more positive way.
