Can everyone please share their Work Harassment Training stories here. I would like to get a sense of what others are going through in the work force. I can't tel if it's just my job or others are dealing with the same thing. It's gotten so bad I'm trying to look for another job, but it's hard the older you get.
I think there have been some brainstorming at the top recesses of society that have figured out they need to start laying the ground work to eventually remove Christians from the work force under the guise of "making a harassment free work environment for everyone". They've taken over Hollywood, media and our schools but next it to control your behavior through your pocketbook.
Last year or so I had the following test scenario: You are a manager and Fred comes to you and complains that Johnny is using the girls restroom, what do you tell Johnny? I of course said that Johnny was using the wrong restroom and I got the question wrong, I couldn't believe it! We've never even had any transgender policies that I ever even knew about and I've worked here for years. I thought I was going to fail the test but it let me continue and I still got my certification that year for Sexual Harassment training but I was sweating bullets. I was literally sick to my stomach for multiple reasons. I'm just trying to do a good job for my employer, working my butt off and bothering nobody when I literally feel like I'm being attacked, I have no other way to describe it, it's sickening. Why is it that employers worry so much about the possibility of harassing a transgender person (I don't even think we have any in our company) but they don't care about harassing a christian?
They had all these uncomfortable video scenes where this person or that person was made to feel uncomfortable, but not one scenario of a Christian being attacked and feeling uncomfortable.
This past month we had our new round of Harassment training and they are getting bolder and bolder. This time they are asking that everyone be an "Active bystander", meaning that wether you are involved or not, if you simply witness a so called "harassment" issue, that you need to notify HR. So they are now turning us all into little narcs.
Also included was the revelation of a new term called "micro aggressions". Where no single aggressive action my be actionable on it's own but taken as a whole over time, many small aggressions can be considered harassment. They showed a video example of a woman of eastern descent complaining about being asked to go by a different name because her name is hard to pronounce. She said, "I don't ask to call you by another name". After watching the video I thought to myself, they almost had me convinced! What would be wrong with her asking me is she can call me by another name, she can ask me? I can say no, correct? If I ask her, she can so no, correct? Why are people so sensitive? We can't even politely ask a question like this? What other super simple questions can we not ask? Can we get an app for this? How does this girl not know that I have a horrible memory and already have a hard time remembering peoples names. I'm the one horribly embarrassed because I know I'm screwing up her name every-time I try to say it and I can see on her face she's annoyed because to her "I'm not trying hard enough", everyone else has no problem. I guess just fire the stupid guy that can't say a foreign name properly. What If I'm in a tech company that is predominately middle eastern and I have to look like an idiot in front of everyone 10 times a day murdering her name while everyone around snickers.
Right now they aren't taking any actions regarding these LGBT harassment questions but I know the day is coming where HR will call you down just to have a chat. They'll say, "Oh, you're not in trouble, we just want to know your thought process". But they know its intimidating and causes people to conform and deny their core principles. Eventually it will lead to losing your job, I know that day is coming.
