Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. This my sisters and brothers is sitting under counsel. How long do we sit under this? For as long as we need counsel in the area we seek. When do we seek Counseling? You know better then anyone! I have no need to tell you when,you know.
From the beginning,we learned what counsel is.Moses sought this.( exodus 18:19) As you see plainly here,counsel is received, first,then given. For how can wisdom in Christ be found in us,unless we have been counseled first in Jesus?
To be able to counsel another,we must first learn to be a servant in Counseling!( 1 Kings 12:6-7) We are as wise as the Lord has made us through our own testimony we have each lived.The reason we need each other,is because Jesus in each and everyone of us has given us counseling on an area of our own life.
And if we learned from that,then we are able to help another who may have the same problem as we once did. As we grow in Christ we find out something many do not. We are far better off always to sit under the counseling of the Lord within us. There is no better, wonderful Counselor then the Lord,in fact God's Word calls him this!(Isaiah 9:6) also Eternal Father!! meaning he will always counsel us! because He is always!! OUR FATHER!
I know many times when I was a young one in the Lord I would look to counsel the Lord in something!! OOPS! (Rom 11:34-36)) For who has known the mind of the Lord,or who became HIS COUNSELOR??
Since we know there is no higher Counselor,and no wiser Counselor,doesn't it make sense to always be under his Counsel? It does to me brother and sisters,it sure does to me! For to have the mind of Christ( 1 Cor 2:16)( 1 cor 1:30) we must sit under it! And!! Stay under this! By being a servant unto our Lord,he then will lead you to another in and by his great name and wisdom to counsel another through Jesus in us!
And in this God will receive all the Glory from this! The purpose of counseling! When others hear what you say,they know it cannot come from flesh,but rather of loving Spirit,which Jesus Christ gave us because we continue to sit under his counsel. Many of you have helped another here!! Sometimes we wonder how this happened,for we know the words that we spoke to that person we could not have thought of!
That is because Holy Spirit was,and will continue to use us, as long as we are willing to sit under HIS Counseling! Counseling is not an art,it is not that some have this and others do not.We all have this gift, it is just that some sit under Counseling,while others look to lead in the counseling.
It does not take many words to see who is doing what either! Counseling is a narrow road. there are many ways in which to counsel another,but only one correct way! God's Way.And this way can only be taught if one sits under his counsel. This is something I want us all to consider today. Where are we sitting? Who are we listening to?
How can we better hear,unless we sit under the right counseling. You will know this as well! No guess work is present in Christ! The actions taken, show how wonderful,or how poor the counseling was we shared. We are not always correct,because we needed more counseling ourselves,but we learn though our shortcoming as well!
To grow in Christ,we stay Counseled under Christ. His Word becomes our counseling tool he gave us.But his Word is only as good as we ourselves have been counseled under it. So now the question is,how much of His Word is in us? The more of God's own Word is in us,the more counseled we are,and we can be to others through our Jesus. Blessing all!!
