CRYONICS: second life?

Cryonics is the preservation of legally dead humans or pets at very low temperature (below −200ºF, −130ºC) in the hope that future science can restore them to life, youth and health. Cryonicists are people who use or advocate cryonics to greatly extending life and youth.

So science totally collides with Christianity, but i would like to hear lots from you about this raging idea of freezing people and bringing them to life... back.

Well like cloning, there havent been any successful cases of these,

But what if 1 day we will wake up with the news headline :
"TRUE RESSURECTION: cryonics!"

I would appreciate if you'll help me defend this issue, supporting verses, faith strenghthening words and stuff. I'll be discussing this to some of the youths in our chruch, so i hope you guys can help me. Thanks a lot!

The answer is simple sister. GOD does not condone controlling the life of people outside His will. GOD is in control and we should not try to take control over such areas like this. As believers, this whole cloning and cryonics makes no sense for it has no useful purpose to us, to glorify GOD and eternal advantages. Jesus is our life, eternal life. I'd rather die sooner than be frozen in hell on earth (metaphor) because at least I can be in the presence of my GOD, my Savior Jesus than be a frozen thing for someone else's useless exploration and examination.

The below Scripture does not necessarily relate to your question, but my point in quoting it is to show you that GOD is in control of giving life and control of death as well.

Matthew 10:28
And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; but rather be afraid of Him who can destroy both soul and body in hell

As I understand it, in Cryonics they are talking about resuscitation, not resurrection. Resuscitation is simply restoration of the functioning of all human organs, the return of human life in a perishable body. In my opinion, Cryonics simply means a continuation of the same human life after a period of interruption. Cryonics believers ignore the fact that we are spirit beings living in human bodies.

Over against this, Paul describes resurrection thusly: "Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed - in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality." (1 Cor 15:51-53)

I can`t help but get a little excited when science collides with Christianity....and LOSES...infinity to zero! (you super bowl fans might understand lol) :weirdo:

To give eyes to the blind, to make free the prisoners from the prison, to let out those who are shut up in the dark.

Hey thanks alot, i did great on my report, thanks to you guys, and i finally got the verse i needed, Hebrews 9:27, we only die once then after that we accend to heaven, as being Christians. This is why cryonics cannot be justified, by any misleading verse, such as philippians 1:25, wherein it says that its better for Christians to remain in flesh.

We only die once.

We're in agreement on this one, Coconut.

Back in August, when my son died, I had confirmation from a spirit-filled believer at my church that he had received a word of knowledge from the Lord confirming that my son is in Heaven. Not long after that, my wife asked me if I missed our son. I said that I do indeed miss him but, since I'm certain he's with the Lord, I wouldn't bring him back to earth, even if I had the power.

She asked why. I told her that I have a bit of an idea of how joyful Heaven is and that it would be very selfish of me to try to take him away from the unspeakable joy of Paradise.

And when I leave here to go and be with the Lord, I'm not coming back either!
