I had this yesterday, everyone that knows me know I'm afraid of crabs. Ashamed I have to admit, I have dreams about giant crabs chasing me,lol.
Anyways the last time I had crab I was 9yrs, I came face to face with one last night and it taste good, LoL

I found the recipe, wanted to share.

1 cup water
6 big size crabs
8 red chillies whole
1 tblsp tamarind pulp
1/2 coconut scraped
1 tsp garam masala powder
8 cloves garlic
1 tblsp oil
1 big size onion sliced
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp cumin seeds

How to make crab curry :
Boil the crabs and clean them, only the body and claws are used (the crab claws can be lightly cracked and the body cut into half, to facilitate eating).
Grind the scraped coconut with red chillies, cumin seeds, turmeric powder and garlic to a fine paste.
Heat up oil on medium heat up and stir fry cut onion.
Stir-fry for one minute.
Mix in ground spices and stir-fry for a minute.
Mix in tamarind pulp, salt to taste and crabs.
Simmer (boil slowly at low temperature) on low heat, covered for 15 minutes.
Mix in little more water if necessary and stir fry till done.
Serve hot.

I absolutely love seafood and curry! I can't even put into words how awesome GOD is for all the wide array of delicious, healthy, mouth watering foods He has given us. What about the knowledge He has given us to come up with virtually unlimited recipies? Amazing!

I'm big on dining out and I love trying out the unique "mom and pop" restaurants. I know your from Manhattan area, I'm sure you've been to many awesome unique eat outs. Out in Queens where my cousin lives by Bell Blvd, its nothing but a long strip of amazing restuarants of all cultures. I need to move there :D

This dish you've posted sounds delicious. I'm hungry now lol

Actually Chad, I live in queens, but I'm always in Manhattan, we just moved deeper in queens this month. I lived on the border of long island and queens before.

I'm also a fan of curry, have you tried roti ( West Indian ) it's good. Curried shrimp that's hot to....

Not trying to boast or anything, but I can make a good "curry potato".

This weekend I'm suppose to watch my friend make calaloo with crab.
I'll probably wait till the crab is dead before I enter the kitchen.

I really don't like crabs:embarasse.

But praise God for making them, for they taste good...lol
