I was raised in a Christian home. My dad always encouraged me to read my Bible and pray so I did. Times were hard for us though. My mom left my dad when I was a baby so he was forced to raise me on his own. I had to go by his rules and do what he told me. He would take me to Church and I would reluctantly go even though at times I found it to be a chore to go every Sunday. However I enjoyed Sunday School and singing Silly Songs and acting out stories on Felt. As I got older and grew out of Sunday School I wondered if there is more to being a Christian than just going to Church. Time passed and I kept asking the Lord if he could show Himself to me more.
When I was 14 I attended a Youth Conference with the Youth Group at my church. There were Speakers and Concerts there. At first I was just there to have fun and hang out with the Youth. One of the Bands who attended was "Hillsong" they sang a song called "Fire Fall Down" (Where my username came from) as they sang. I felt God's Presence all around me. My body felt like it never felt before. I had chills running all through my body. Afterwards they asked "If there is anyone here who is not Saved and does not know the Lord or Anyone who is unsure about their Faith and would like to grow closer to the Lord then pray this prayer with me now" I closed my eyes and lifted my hands and prayed the prayer and Officially asked Jesus into my Heart.
Nowadays things are getting better. My dad re-married 5 years ago to a wonderful Christian Woman. He is happy. Although sometimes I do wonder if I will ever see my real mom again and ask her why she left. But I am thankful for that God has provided my dad with another wonderful woman. I have always been ambitious and am always making goals for myself. One of those goals is to be a Professional Chef. I took Culinary classes all through my Highschool Years and I had planned on going to Culinary Arts College however due to funding issues and a low GPA I could not attend. I am currently taking General Education classes online to raise my GPA and am working to get some money. I hope that someday I can become a Chef but for now I just have to pray, trust the Lord and keep on Dreaming.
