Jer 30:4; Now these are the words which the LORD spoke concerning Israel and concerning Judah:
Jer 30:5; "For thus says the LORD, 'I have heard a sound of terror, Of dread, and there is no peace.
Jer 30:6; 'Ask now, and see If a male can give birth. Why do I see every man With his hands on his loins, as a woman in childbirth? And why have all faces turned pale?
Jer 30:7; 'Alas! for that day is great, There is none like it; And it is the time of Jacob's distress, But he will be saved from it.
Jer 30:8; 'It shall come about on that day,' declares the LORD of hosts, 'that I will break his yoke from off their neck and will tear off their bonds; and strangers will no longer make them their slaves.
Jer 30:9; 'But they shall serve the LORD their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them.
Jer 30:10; 'Fear not, O Jacob My servant,' declares the LORD, 'And do not be dismayed, O Israel; For behold, I will save you from afar And your offspring from the land of their captivity. And Jacob will return and will be quiet and at ease, And no one will make him afraid.

Acts 2:34; "For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says: 'THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, "SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,

I have no problems with David, like all other Christians... being resurrected one day.
But I am wondering what this verse in Jeremiah 30 means?

Not only is God going to resurrect David, but the Jews will serve him. ( ..and the Lord also )
Verse 7 is also intriguing, some Christians believe that the Jews will go through Jacob's troubles ( the tribulation ) but the Gentiles will not.
Yet here it seems to say just the opposite, the Jews will be spared Jacob's troubles.

Thanks looking at those verses you offered

Jer 30:9; 'But they shall serve the LORD their God and David their king, whom I will raise up for them.

What I would offer is a little long and takes work . I Hope it make some sense to you .

I would offer to begin with it was not the idea of God to have an earthly representative as king. (abomination of desolation) making desolate our invisible King of kings reigning from heaven .

The unbelieving faithless Jew in 1 Samuel 8 gathered themselves together. . . not called by God. They became jealous of the surrounding pagan nations and their foundation as in “out of sight out of mind” . . .we refuse to believe in a God not seen. They insisted in walking by sight after the temporal things seen. again they refused to believe God reigning from heaven. God told Samuel to give them a king until the time of first century reformation..(Hebrew 9)

The people’s choice as those who look to the outside was Saul who ended up as one that sought after the dead relatives (necromancy) rather than the Living God of the dead. Our God that give to born again mankind new life. God had cut him off from hearing the word of God after any manner .

Then Samuel the apostle/prophet was sent to the house of Jesse And after looking at the 7 brothers Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? Jesse said one is in the field with the sheep. It would seem the youngest gets the stinky job like that of Abel.

David whose name means “beloved of the father” typifies Jesus the son of man. Like Jesus it would seem the family misunderstood Jesus when he spoke in mysteries hid in parables or poems .

David moved the same Holy Spirit used his position to teach us of the green pastures by the waters stilled by the word of God .. . .”Be still”

Again people’s choice look on the outward appearance as with Saul the same with Eliab meaning (God is my father, God is the father.)

1 Samuel 16:6-7 And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the Lord's anointed is before him. But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.

1 Samuel 16:11-12 And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all thy children? And he said, There remaineth yet the youngest, and, behold, he keepeth the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he come hither. And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the Lord said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.

Then as a law that one must remain faithful as David. Solomon who failed in the end was elected and was reckoned by mankind at making the throne greater than David, God’s choice again to represent Jesus the son of man

1 Kings 1:37 As the Lord hath been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.

1 Kings 3:6And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son(The Son of man, Jesus ) to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

You could say the throne was passed over from David beloved to Jesus. . beloved of God

It may be that God didn't want the Jews to have a earthly king, but that isn't the abomination of desolation.

Dan 11:31; "Forces from him will arise, desecrate the sanctuary fortress, and do away with the regular sacrifice. And they will set up the abomination of desolation.
Dan 12:11; "From the time that
the regular sacrifice is abolished and the abomination of desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days.

We know it had to do with "the regular sacrifice" in the holy place.

It had nothing to do with Israel having a king. There is no mention of Israel's king anywhere in Dan 11 or 12. (There is the king of the North, and the South. )
What the problem with the regular sacrifice was, isn't specifically mentioned in the Bible,

However Jewish annuls and tradition say that Antiochus Epiphanes (either the III or IV) sacrificed swine ( the most unclean animal in Judaism ) in the temple. He did this 1,290 days.
I don't agree 100% with this article, but it gets some of it right. -- Abomination of desolation - Wikipedia.

Jesus said the abomination of desolation will happen again at some point in the future. He also says this was spoken about by Daniel. He also says it will "stand in the holy place", "standing where it should not be".

Matt 24:15; "Therefore when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand),
Mark 13:14; "But when you see the ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION standing where it should not be (let the reader understand), then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains.

You dissection of scripture is usually a little more convoluted than necessary in my estimation, and often includes scripture that has nothing to do with the subject at hand.
Rather than go down all the rabbit holes, I usually just stop at the first one that is an obvious error.

When the book of Daniel was written, the Jews were in Babylonian captivity. The kings in Daniel were Nebuchadnezzar , Belshazzar the Chaldean, and Darius.
When Jesus mentioned the abomination of desolation, the Jews were under Roman occupation. Caesar was their king. None of these kings, were kings for exactly 1,290 days.

1 Kings 1:37 As the Lord hath been with my lord the king, even so be he with Solomon, and make his throne greater than the throne of my lord king David.

Another side note here. Solomon lost his blessing.

1Kin 11:4; For when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away after other gods; and his heart was not wholly devoted to the LORD his God, as the heart of David his father had been.
1Kin 11:5; For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Sidonians and after Milcom the detestable idol of the Ammonites.
1Kin 11:6; Solomon did what was evil in the sight of the LORD, and did not follow the LORD fully, as David his father had done.
1Kin 11:7; Then Solomon built a high place for Chemosh the detestable idol of Moab, on the mountain which is east of Jerusalem, and for Molech the detestable idol of the sons of Ammon.
1Kin 11:8; Thus also he did for all his foreign wives, who burned incense and sacrificed to their gods.

Although he did get to build the temple that David originally wanted to build.

1Kin 11:9; Now the LORD was angry with Solomon because his heart was turned away from the LORD, the God of Israel, who had appeared to him twice,
1Kin 11:10; and had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods; but he did not observe what the LORD had commanded.
1Kin 11:11; So the LORD said to Solomon, "Because you have done this, and you have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom from you, and will give it to your servant.

Hi thanks for the reply

Temples built with human hands (stationary ).came about by the unbelieving Jew when they entered the promised land . . the temporal land used to represent the heavenly city not seen(eternal land)

Previously a temple signified as living moving.. . during the 40 years . a gospel sign to the many nations in the wilderness .

The faithless Jew because of their jealousy of the surrounding pagan nation gathered themselves together and demanded a earthen representative as a king that they could venerate. .Therefore making our King of kings desolate (the abomination of desolation( human form in the place of our unseen eternal God ) .

1 Samauel 8:4 Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the Lord. And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

The abomination of desolation

The atheist Jew turning things upside down (the abomination of desolation )Taking away the understanding of the King of kings and lord of lord and giving them to the oral traditons of men. . making the word of God desolate of Power from God not seen .

Isaiah 29:16 Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding? . . . . (making his understanding desolate.)

Jesus as the son of man refused to stand in the place of faith, the unseen things of the father. The one good teaching master as lord .
Again the abomination of desolation making the will of the father without effect so that men might walk by sight like all the pagan governments of this world .Out of sight out of mind .

Mark 10 :17-18 And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

Kings in Israel the abomination of desolation

One is our unseen good master not seen. .

Peter erred trying to establish another temple made with human hands after another master (satan the deceiver).

Luke 9:33 And it came to pass, as they departed from him, Peter said unto Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias: not knowing what he said.

The abomination of desolate. (Kings in Israel)

When the time of reformation came the abomination of desolation was made to no effect .
The veil which represented the foreskin of mankind . .a ceremonial law of circumcision . It was rent from the top to the bottom . There was no Jewish king sitting in the Holy of Holies .Satan could not longer deceive all the nations of the world that God was a jewish King .

He fell and could not longer deceive mankind that God is a man .The Lord revealed in a parable (Revelation 20) and cast him into a bottomless pit . He will be released for a short time at the end of the age to again deceive the nations God is a Jewish man (the abomination of desolation )

Revelation 20: 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Again deceive all the nations God is a Jewish man . . the abomination of desolation

God often uses types and shadows in the law, in the prophets, and in those that are his as a sign of things to come.

In the case of David, he was a type and shadow of a man after Gods own heart, and a righteous anointed King, which is symbolic of Jesus Christ.

Some men are shown as bad types that were to reflect the characteristics of the Devil, like Pharoah who God called a dragon. Or like the Prince of Tyrus who God called the covering cherub. Or like the king of Babylon that God called Lucifer.

Types for God and His High priest can be shown in Moses, whom God said he would make like God, and his brother Aaron the High priest whom God said would speak the words of God that he put in Moses’ mouth.

Zerubbabel the righteous governor of Judah is another type and shadow for Jesus Christ. Who was forecast to put down Satan and lay the head cornerstone of the House of God, and who was also forecast to finish the House of God with His own hands.

Keep this in mind…

Isaiah 8:18
Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
