Basically, Christians are not supposed to welcome or greet JW's because they don't hold to Christ and if you don't have Christ you don't have God - 2 John 1:9-11, and Christians are to refrain from dialogue with them.
Of the few times when a Christian is allowed to not be friendly, loving or nice, this is one of them - when a JW comes knocking on your door. Maybe you can share the Gospel but really you are just wasting your breath because you can't hope to convert a JW who comes to your door because these ones they send out are the tough ones who know their stuff, not the young impressionable novices. Usually they send two JW's - one is nice and the other is not so nice, so they can play "good cop, bad cop" with you.
If you ever make the mistake of inviting them into your home, it is very hard to get rid of them and they will keep bothering you week after week.
Again, you can't convert them, so don't bother to try, and inviting them into your home will just encourage them and give them hope of converting you - they did not give up their weekend to come to your house to hear you tell them about the truth (which they already know and believe to be wrong) - they came to your house to try and convert you and your family. We wouldn't invite someone into our home to steal our possessions, so don't invite someone into your home to rob you of your spiritual riches.
Forget about discussing the NWT and all the "NWT is wrong" knowledge that you have - they will bring and use the KJV bible so that they appear Christian and genuine.
They will leave a copy of their magazine or publication for you to read, best to throw it out and don't leave it lying around for your children or spouse to read.
They will make a note of your home address and your name and when is the best time to visit you, so they can plan who will visit you next, and in their own time they will discuss about you and pray for you and your families conversion to Jehovah Witness-ism. For this reason it is best not to even answer the door so they don't record your street address and definitely don't give them your name. Don't invite them into your home so they can't see your family photographs or ask about your family members - they will probably pray for their conversion to JW-ism too.
So when they pray for you they are praying to the false gods or using psychic projection and therefore you may experience some spiritual oppression and mental confusion. In this time you need to pray and cover yourself with the blood of Christ.
The easiest way to get rid of them is to tell them that you believe in the Trinity. This has worked for me 9 times out of 10.
If they know that you believe in the Trinity to them you are beyond hope and lost forever, they will give up on you and move on.
But if you only say that you are Christian or doubt the Trinity or don't explicitly say that you believe in the Trinity, they will think there is hope in converting you. The easiest targets for them are Christians who are disaffected by their own church or denomination or who doubt the doctrine of the Trinity.
