Do any of you know this music?
They claim that this is Christian Music and good for warfare?

This is the biggest lie of satan I ever came upon! This is NOT christian music and what is there to warfare about? Jesus already defeated satan on the cross.

How I came upon this terrible music is, one of my brothers in Christ gave me a stick with some worship music on it. 80% of the music is really good praise and worship music like Hillsong, Casting Crowns, Bethal Church and so on. But as I got to the file description with the name: Demon Hunters - Summer of Darkness, the Holy Spirit already gave me red lights.

I opened the file and listened to a few songs. You can't even hear what they are saying, so I decided to pull the lyrics, for you can't just make up your mind on something you can't even hear.

The lyrics are terrible and not one word about Jesus, God our Father or the Holy Spirit. How can this be christian music if they don't even mention the whole reason we are christians??

In the words of God is says that everything needs to bring glory to our Father God and Jesus Chirst. Well, that speaks for itself.

I've printed out all the lyrics of the 13 songs on that album and with great meekness and gentleness I'm going to give it to my brother, asking him, does he know what he has been listening to while he is doing "warefare"?

I hate to correct my brothers and sisters, thats the last thing I ever want to do. But when the Holy Spirit calls me to do it, I must...

Ps: I would really like to know what you all think of this band.

Its weird, I had the same experience at the shop, there was this customer that asked me to copy some songs and they are Christian songs,I really heard them, but when I was ripping it, the filenames are not-so-godly, its like hidden, because theres the title of the song... I dont know, my customer was watching so I immediately have to hand it. Its creepy. We have to be really careful.

Hello Sheep. Hope you are well. You have raised an interesting topic regarding genres of music. I would like to say that my son has all their albums and takes delight listening to them.

Metalcore is a difficult genre to understand as it is loud and aggressive. I would like you to look at a couple of songs the band has produced and decipher if they are ungodly (Carry Me Down & Fading Away). The band is a crossover band which means most or all are Christian yet sing to convey a message (Much like Switchfoot & Lifehouse).

Ryan Clark was also the founding member of Training for Utopia which were signed by Solid State Records which are generally regarded as a Christian Hardcore Label.

When we are used to Worship Music and mellow lyrics that edify Christ it is easy to miss what some others on the fringe are trying to convey.

My son is an atheist and he was brought up Christian yet he believes the lyrics to Demon Hunters albums are both uplifting and bring a positive message to the youth of today.

I have seen their albums many times in the CD sections of Christian books stores I've been in, and I listened to a bit of them on the in-store headphones 'cause I was curious as to how they could really be a Christian band.
As far as I'm concerned, their appearance and musical style is emulating the flesh and not the Spirit, and they are not shunning all appearance of evil as the bible tells us to do in 1 Thessalonians 5:22. One foot in the world, one foot in heaven= lukewarm?

Dear Risen, hallo my brother. I know you are well in our Lord Jesus Christ and no, not at all, you did not sture the pot.

But with all due respect, there is nothing uplifting about these words. As I said, I first did some investigation on it, for different strokes for different folks. Some of us like different worship and praise music but somewhere we should draw the line.

We cannot call that which is evil good and that which is good evil.

Please understand, if you son likes this, then its his choise, but this is afterall a Christian Site and if feel the need to warn my brothers and sisters out there on this wolf so discuised in sheeps clothing.

I truly understand where you are coming from I do. Crossover Bands do not do this, they are more to question their faith and bring meaning to their lives. There is nothing satanic in the lyrics you posted Sheep.

Crossover bands do not do this. I used to listen to Hillsong only at one point. The older I got the more of Jesus’ meaning I wanted in listening. You have to understand hardcore to understand hardcore. Like I said Lifehouse and Switchfoot and including Underoath are the same plus many other bands that are Christian members but don’t praise Jesus in every word.

I understand this is a Christian site yet want you to understand there are more to melodious words than the style. I like the Band Red they are a hardcore band yet I relate to them, nothing is mentioned about our Father, Son and Holy Spirit yet I know they are Christian and can relate. If you cannot relate that it is ok. Others do.

We are of one body. One body part cannot determine the other. Our right hand does not know what the left is doing. So as in music. Can you say that all music that is not of the Father , Son and Holy Spirit is of the Devil that does not say the lyrics?

This song is from the same album they are not demonic. I interpreted these lyrics as positive, they do not depict the FS&HS yet they are our daily struggles which we face.

My Dear Brohter...

The way of experiencing the fullness of the finished work of the cross is a process and it looks like this: old man / flesh - tomb - life / God.

Now these words of deamon hunters lyrics are what you feel in your heart. And if you listen to them, believe it or not they comfort you, but that is a deceiving lie. Yes, you feel comforted, for "someone" can relate on how are feeling in your heart. But at the end of the day you are cept there, cept in your dispare, cept in you depression, cept in your dissorders (but to you, you feel good for they understand you) this has satan writen all over it by brohter, he call it his bondage and imprissonment. This is keeping you in chains and thats why you feel stuck and disconnected and then you turn back to this album / music for they "understand" you. But all things come at a price from satan. He is stealing your portion from you.

Step out of the tomb and into the grace and glory of God that is waiting for you; this is your portion - Christ is your Portion! Then you will experience real freedom, real love, real understanding and comfort from our Father through Jesus Christ and your fist love will return spontaniously.

I know this might be offensive to you, I'm sorry. But Jesus within me are showing me allot of things in this and on bondage. Some of us are too comfotable staying in our bondage and I talk of experience, I did it myself once, till Jesus asked me why? He said that He already broke my chains, why am I still cluching them so dearly? Was His crusifiction on the cross in vain then? He has so much more for me instore, if I can only let go of the chains and pain I become so used to... and I was scared my brother, but I took faith in Him, I let go of the chains and pain and took His hand... I will never look back again.

Music that claims to be "Christian" requires discernment. I feel the message is most important, though I'm not really a fan of heavy music.

There are many, many so-called "Christian" bands that are absolute frauds. Their music bears no fruit of God's Spirit. Some of it is actually blasphemous.

You can examine the lyrics, the music videos, the behavior of the members of the band. You will know them by their fruits, as our Lord Jesus said. If they bear burrs, don't bother with them. It's that simple.
