Hi everyone.

My brother suffers from depression. I live a long way from him, only seeing him a couple times a year, so any help is long-distance. He only really opens up about things when he's drunk, then when he's sober ignores the problem and doesn't want to talk about it. He's not a Christian, but we talk about God a lot.
I don't want him to do anything to himself, but I just don't know how much I can do. He has friends around who also try to help him.
I'm starting to feel drained.

Your message touched my heart; I will be praying for your brother.

Love in Christ,

The only thing you can really do is pray for your brother's salvation, pray that God speaks to His heart, I'm in a similar situation, but I just keep praying.

God bless.

Have you taken authority over the demonic forces that may be present and preventing your brother from asking Jesus into his life? I have witnessed many salvations that in the beginning were hindered by demonic spirits and as soon as the spirits were dealt with, the power of salvation was manifested into their lives. Every believer in Christ has authority over all the powers of darkness. Try exercising your authority the next time you are talking with your brother, ask him what he thinks is hindering him from moving forward in his life. It could possibly be fear and fear is a spirit that you have authority over , just command it to leave and it will obey you. You do not have to get into a wrestling match or yell at the top of your lung's capacity or embarrass your brother, just command it to leave in the name of Jesus.
Ask the HolySpirit to manifest the gift of discerning of spirits and it will be revealed to you if there is a problem with demonic influence or control. In the meantime we will all be praying for you and your brother. God bless

Thanks Jiggyfly, that's excellent advice. I pray (quietly) when I'm talking to my brother, that God will guide me in what I say, but no, I haven't done anything in the way of spiritual warfare.
Thanks for your help.
