With the gifts of wisdom and knowledge given by holy spirit I'm sure that volcanoes and smokers are actually fires under Earth's crust that are burning the humans, animals, birds, fish and vegetation that was all sucked into the great voids the great geysers of the start of the Flood blasted out of.
