Bats roost in most of our ancient churches. During the Covid 19 pandemic, should we go to church and risk infecting them ?
Did Covid 19 come from Bats ?.

Most of the ancient churches are well funded and are able to get rid of any bat problem. And you misunderstand the virus spreading or this is a joke question. According to the story told by some, the bats have the virus to begin with, the bats go to fruit markets and infect some of the fruits, the people buy the fruits and infect themselves. Bats dont bite people, except for perhaps vampire bats, and thats pretty rare.

In the UK, bats are protected, so I believe a church that has bats in the roof is obliged to continue to host them.
Bats and humans have lived alongside each other for a long time in the UK, so it's unlikely that a new disease will come from bats. In China, there is human expansion into remote areas and wild animals brought into human populations for the first time. That's why there is increased risk of animal to human transmission.
So, no risk in attending one of our older churches.

The potential cost of 'Do Good, Non Curch-going, Bat Lovers' taking legal action to make the congregation try to protect bats from Covid 19, worries me.

Thank you for pointing me to this information, but like most that I have read, it is reassurance about bats infecting humans with Covid 19, not the problem of the alleged potential passing of Covid 19 from humans to bats.
