Difference between Belief and Faith

I heard this illustration of the difference between belief and faith, id like to share it with you.

A soldiers been wandering in the desert and after a long time without water is so dehydrated hes collapsed on the sand and can barely move.
Some one meets him with a bottle of water and the soldier says
I Believe if i drink this water i will be ok
he says again
I Believe if i drink this water i will be ok
then again
I Believe if i drink this water i will be ok
then he dies.

Faith actually grabs the bottle and would have saved his life.

We christians are like that with the bible, we say we believe wots in the bible but we dont step out in faith to take the word and apply it to our life, and the word of god can save our lives.

How true, we can all learn from that. It's not just reading the Bible that counts - it's putting what we read into practice.

yeah i agree
but how can i stop the hurt when i try to put it into action at times when people come ot me nd say do you even read the bible and things liek that when i try my hardest to try and do what it say's... do any of you feel this. how do we deal with the Offence??

I know exactly wot you are saying, when these offences come, b4 they dwell in your mind, give them straight to god, you will find a great liberty in that, it comes with renewing our mind, and then pray for those people who offended you. wow you dont have to deal with it god does.
then by the fear and love of our saviour we continue to run the race by faith.

Its rather too easy to "believe" but it is faith that puts the belief into action. I hope I worded that correctly

Faith with no action is worthless and hopeless.
