Is it different for sons and daughters?
when a daughter grows up she (in most cases) stays close by her family, especially when children are involved.
when a son grows up he is told ( biblically ) to leave the household and cleave to his wife, and cherish her.
the question im trying to get answered here is that, we should honour our parents and love them, however when a man leaves his household and marries his wife, should he be focusing on his relationship with his wife more, is he called to love her more than his parents? as his new family?
a woman is not called to leave the family home, or to love her husband, but to submit to him.
i dont mean this to be a silly question, just some feedback, my wife and i have been blessed with a son recently, and all these thoughts are coming from a different dimention than they were before.
thankyou God bless
