Do faith in God and science contradict?
Bible Questions Answered

Science is defined as “the observation, identification, description, experimental investigation, and theoretical explanation of phenomena.” Science is a method that mankind can use to gain a greater understanding of the natural universe. It is a search for knowledge through observation. Advances in science demonstrate the reach of human logic and imagination. However, a Christian’s belief in science should never be like our belief in God. A Christian can have faith in God and respect for science, as long as we remember which is perfect and which is not.

Our belief in God is a belief of faith. We have faith in His Son for salvation, faith in His Word for instruction, and faith in His Holy Spirit for guidance. Our faith in God should be absolute, since when we put our faith in God, we depend on a perfect, omnipotent, omniscient Creator. Our belief in science should be intellectual and nothing more. We can count on science to do many great things, but we can also count on science to make mistakes. If we put faith in science, we depend on imperfect, sinful, limited, mortal men. Science throughout history has been wrong about many things, such as the shape of the earth, powered flight, vaccines, blood transfusions, and even reproduction. God is never wrong.

Truth is nothing to fear, so there is no reason for a Christian to fear good science. Learning more about the way God constructed our universe helps all of mankind appreciate the wonder of creation. Expanding our knowledge helps us to combat disease, ignorance, and misunderstanding. However, there is danger when scientists hold their faith in human logic above faith in our Creator. These persons are no different from anyone devoted to a religion; they have chosen faith in man and will find facts to defend that faith.

Still, the most rational scientists, even those who refuse to believe in God, admit to a lack of completeness in our understanding of the universe. They will admit that neither God nor the Bible can be proved or disproved by science, just as many of their favorite theories ultimately cannot be proved or disproved. Science is meant to be a truly neutral discipline, seeking only the truth, not furtherance of an agenda.

Much of science supports the existence and work of God. Psalm 19:1 says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.” As modern science discovers more about the universe, we find more evidence of creation. The amazing complexity and replication of DNA, the intricate and interlocking laws of physics, and the absolute harmony of conditions and chemistry here on earth all serve to support the message of the Bible. A Christian should embrace science that seeks the truth, but reject the “priests of science” who put human knowledge above God.

Senses

Concise explanation of Science and Christianity. Thankyou Chad.
Precise as usual.

The foundation of Science is empirical.
Empiricism is the philosphy that relies on the human senses.
Is it observable, repeatable, objective.

Christianity is involved with the unseen God.

2 Corinthians 4:18
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Science by definition cannot know God of course.

I think there is a great separation between God and science that is very unfortunate and, I believe, it is harming our society. I think scientists try to keep their distance from Christians, and I think Christians get scared of science. This in turn causes a great schism and has ultimately created two different faiths- either faith in science, or faith in God- which is an either/or choice. I think instead we ought to use the brain and the intelligence the Lord blessed us with to prove His goodness and to praise His name.

It is then we can start to discover infallible truths, and start to harness the energy of the Lord as we move forward in our knowledge of this earth. With everything we must start with God and the unbreakable foundation and truth of His word, and from there we can start to build.

I don't think Christians are scared of science. Christians that are well versed on the Bible understand that what's in the natural is constantly changing and what's eternal is permanently fixed. Science is the lower realm and faith is a much higher realm. Science is confined to the senses and to what it can see. And those who are grounded in the Word understand that there is a deeper, hidden reality behind this one, which is explained in our Bible. I think far too many Christians have been brainwashed with pseudoscience and they forget that there are many falsehoods advanced as fact within the scientific community. And many Christians continue to forget that the little god of this world, soon to be cast intot he lake of fire, has used the scientific community to assault Jesus Christ and every claim of the Bible. And I'm not anti-science, but much of what is being proposed in scientific circles regarding the origin of life and our universe is being used to destroy millions and send them straight to hell. I just think that we tend to forget the incredible amount of deception that the enemy uses within the scientific arena. Too many Christians have been duped by a great deal of what you find in scientific textbooks and it has caused many to depart from the faith and many have become shaky because of it. At the end of the day, you don't need science to validate anything that is written in God's Word. Faith is a choice and much of the Bible simply can not be made to compute within the narrowminded view of scientists.

Do FAith and Science Contradict?

In my opinion, it's not, there's no conflict. However, there will be when science says that there's no God and that we came from monkeys evolution. There's no conflict because for example, written in the old testament about the right hygiene for medical practices. About the outer space and the processes happening in the earth like rains thunders and lightning and the tide and the likes, they're all written in the Bible God's Word.

I think that the nowadays science is seen in the human-ungodly way. I believe God created science, humankind made a seperation between God and science in around the middle ages (when the seperation between rationalism and church found place). I believe that there definitely still are scientific laws and things that are found by people who truly did believe in God in their own way. There are a lot of christian scientists to be found. God created this world, and He is also the founder of science. People made science something rational, but I believe it comes from God.

Science.

Fact, science does not need a God.

Science makes no reference to God.

It will explain everything (Science believes) eventually without the supernatural.

Science uses logical thought and observation to arrive at hypothesis.

From hypothesis to theory. Theories abound in every area of Science.

Did you know that Science can never claim absolute truth.

Only a high probability of certainity. Probability only.

Never absolute truth. Why not?

All knowledge both past, present, and future is needed. Even that may not be sufficient in the end. What conclusions can derived from all knowledge. Only a probability of certainty. Remeber Science is logic and analysis. It is hindered at the very first step.

Science moves forward continually on previous scientific enquiry.

Weather research has been conducted for many centuries. Where are we now in our understanding of weather. It is Chaos theory.
It is a wonder, but very unpredictable. Sometimes weather forecast are wrong the very next day. Only ever probability forecasts.

Philosphers goad the Science World whether this knowledge will be absolute. Will they in fact ever answer the big questions with any degree of certainty. Science may be clouding the human minds search for the real answers. What a murky world science inhabits.

I do love seeing the pictures from the Hubble telescope.

I know for a fact that the big questions have already been answered.
Revelation is the only source of the absolute truth. This truth is Jesus Christ. This is not a probabilty. This is not a theory. This is not encompassed by the human mind. It is rejected by humanity. It is rejected by science. It is not the answer to the big questions.
