Do you have a plan?
Do you have a plan, or are you just living in the moment? Oh, it sounds so fun and free to have no cares and just live for the moment. But in reality, it's a terribly costly way to live. Proverbs 14 says this: "There's a way of life that seems harmless enough; look again - it leads straight to hell." In other words, left to yourself you will destroy your life. If we don't have a plan or a purpose for our life, we end up on the road to hell! Then again, the purposes and plans of men are doomed to fail; only God's purpose for your life will take you down the path of eternal success. Listen to what God says in the Bible: "I know what I am doing; I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for." Oh yeah, what a promise! God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. Now it's your turn. Will your submit yourself to His Lordship? Will you yield your life to His plans?
Will you actually discipline and train yourself to walk in obedience to His Word? If so, you will discover that all of your life should revolve around the 5 key purposes He has given you. Rick Warren talks about these in detail in "The Purpose Driven Life". Everything you say and do, all your activities and plans, every aspect of your life should fall in line with one or more of these 5 key purposes. You are here to WORSHIP God. You are here to FELLOWSHIP with other believers. You are here to grow and mature in Christ through DISCIPLESHIP. You are here to become like Jesus by SERVING others. You are here to reach this lost and dying world through EVANGELISM. As you strip away all the fluff in your life and focus on these 5 key essentials, God will bless and use you in ways you've never imagined. Jesus said in John 10:10, "I came so they can have real and eternal life; more and better life than they ever dreamed of." God be with you all...
