John 18:33-38:
33 Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?
34 Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?
35 Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?
36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
38 Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.
People talk about submitting to God, but one of the main ways people need to submit is in their thinking, submitting to his way of thinking. Renew your way of thinking to his way of thinking. God's way of thinking is spiritual, notice Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. In submitting to God's way of thinking you need to understand that God's way of thinking is truth John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. That's why Romans 3:3,4 says, For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? 4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar. So, if it's not in line with God's word then it's not truth, now it might be fact, but even fact is not truth. In fact, a lot of times they are opposites and people think they are the same, but they are not. And it's important that you know what's truth and what's fact. Because, Jesus said in John 8:31,32 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Notice, he didn't say anything about facts making you free, he said truth will make you free. As long as you hold on to the fact then you are separated from the truth. A fact is- Fact is basically something that exists, or is present in reality. Hence, these are things that can be seen visually, and these are the things that can actually be verified. It is not just something that you believe, but rather these are more or less the things that can be observed empirically, or by the senses. So, facts can be seen and heard, as well as proven by the other senses (So, facts are physical). What is truth- Truth can be described as the true state of a certain matter.
So, when the scripture says, For we walk by faith and not by sight you could just as easily say For we walk by truth and not by fact. Because, facts deals with the senses(the physical realm) and truth deals with the word which is spiritual. Truth is a reality, it's a spiritual reality. Reality-the state of having existence or substance. So, just like you have this realm of physical reality, there is also a realm of spiritual reality. 2 Kings 6:14-17 here is when the king of Syria sent his army to capture the man of God Elisha: 14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about. 15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? 16 And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them. 17 And Elisha prayed, and said, Lord, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the Lord opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. Question, where those horses and chariots of fire just as real as those soldiers, yes. So, spiritual reality is just as real as physical reality, they both have substance just different forms of substance. We have two different forms of substance one spirit and one flesh, is the flesh more real than the spirit, no. Your spirit is eternal, everlasting your flesh isn't. Truth is not defined by experience or what you have concluded, truth is defined by what the word says truth is. And it's quite clear God says that what He says is truth so anything contrary can't be truth, it can be fact , but not truth. Truth is a higher reality than fact.
And what we have now is a lot of people writing books and telling their experience and what they learned, but just because you experience something or learned something doesn't make it truth. And people accept what they experience and learn as truth. So, they let experience form their beliefs instead of the word. That's when your mind needs to be renewed to the word. And then you have people trying to live their lives based on someone else's experience and perceptions like that's truth. Perception-the act or ability of using the senses to become aware of or understand things. That keeps you living by facts, God wants you living by his truth. You see in Numbers 13 when Moses sent out 12 spies to spy out the promise land after 40 days they came back and reported to Moses--the land is there just like God said, here's some of the fruit (grapes that were so big it took two men to carry one cluster of grapes), but 10 of them said, Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. There are giants in the land and we were like grasshoppers. But, Joshua and Caleb said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. If the Lord delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey. But, what did the people do, they accepted the word of the 10 and as a result the wondered in the desert 40 years. They accepted someone else's perception, and lived out the rest of their lives because of it. Except the two that said, Let us go up at once for we are well able. They made it in because they didn't let what they saw dictate what they believed.
You see in Deu. 1:6-8 what God had told them, and it reads- 6 The Lord our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount: 7 Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates. 8 Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them. So, what was the difference? 10 were looking at the giants or (the fact) and two were looking at the word or (the truth). Now, what you look at is important 2 Cor. 4:16-18 - 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.(So again we are talking about 2 realities a natural one and spiritual one) 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. What you look at or focus on is important because we speak according to what we see. Notice, what Caleb told Joshua in Joshua 14:7, Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart. He was not focusing on what he saw physically, he was only focusing on what God said. And he simply spoke according to what he saw, victory and not defeat.
Notice, God wanted them to do one thing, but all that said they could not and those that agreed with them did not. And those that agreed with what God said received what He said, because God needs your agreement. Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed? Even back from the beginning in Genesis 2:19 it says, And out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. Notice, God brought the animals to Adam to see what he would call them, not name them. They had names, but God wanted the names in heaven to be the names on the earth, but Adam had to call them as God called them. If Adam had called them something else then what Adam called them would have been the names on the earth, but not in heaven. What does The Lord's Prayer say, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." So, it's possible for God's will in heaven not to be done on earth, because if it's not possible why pray it, so it has to be possible. In Matthew 16 when Jesus asked the disciples who they thought he was it reads: 13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? 14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. 15 He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. 17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. 18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
Notice, "Blessed are thou" why because God showed him something and you agreed with it. And verse 19 in the Amplified Translation says, I will give you the keys (authority) of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth will have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth will have [already] been loosed in heaven.” What is that? agreement, for it to be on earth as it is in heaven you/mankind has to agree with heaven. Psalm 119:89 For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven, but you have to settle it on the earth for you by your agreement. Take Abraham for instance, in Genesis 13:16 God told him, And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. And in Genesis 15:1-4 it reads, After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. 2 And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? 3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. 4 And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
Look at how he's talking, so what did God do in Genesis 17:4,5,15 it reads: As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. 5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. 15 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. Notice, what God is doing getting them to come into agreement with him Abram means high father and Abraham means father of a multitude and Saria means My princess and Sarah means Princess of nations. Notice, for them to receive from God they had to come into agreement with God. Another thing is The Holy Spirit works with and through the word even from the beginning, Genesis 1:1-3: In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Notice, what it says in the first part of Isaiah 44:26- That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers. Mark 16:20 And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. Don't mistake the word preach, it simply means to proclaim, speak forth. Notice, when the word goes out The Holy Spirit confirms it. Notice, He confirms the word and not the man. 2 Chronicles 20:20 Believe in the Lord your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper. It's not the man that prospers you, it's the word he has that prospers you. It's never about the man it's always about the word.
Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. See, it's about the word not the man. So, if there's no word going forth then The Holy Spirit is limited in what he can do. The Holy Spirit is called The Spirit Of Truth and as long as you are speaking facts/the circumstances he's limited. It's The Holy Spirit that reveals the word to you. In John 16:13 it reads, Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. The Holy Spirit will never speak anything contrary to God's written word. 1 Corinthians 2:9,10,14- 9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. 10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. 14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Someone come to you and tell you they have a hot revelation from The Holy Spirit and you can't confirm it/verify it in the word, revelation no good. I don't care how good it might sound it did not come from The Holy Spirit. The thing about God's word being truth, you can't catch truth with your senses. Because, God's truth is outside of the realm of the senses. So, if you look for your senses to tell you what's truth most likely you'll miss it.
Deuteronomy 29:29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law. That's the key right there truth has to be revealed to you by The Holy Spirit. But, you have to have ears that hear. That's why Jesus would say, "He that has ears to hear let him hear." Because, someone can be talking to you by The Holy Spirit, but if you don't have ears to hear or understand you hearing didn't profit you. Jesus said in The Parable Of The Sower Matthew 13:23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. In fact Matthew 13:19 says, When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. So, it's not just about hearing, did you get understanding. In understanding truth you have to understand there is a realm where you get your information through your senses, but there is another realm outside of your senses. When God does something He does it in the realm of the spirit. Like, Abraham God told him, "A father of many nations have I made thee", now according to God that was truth. But, in this realm Romans 4:19 says, And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, that was a fact. The average person would look at his dead body, but 2 Corinthians 4:18 says, not to focus on what's seen, but the things not seen. If you don't understand that there is another realm then you'll think that the dead body is all there is.
But, notice at the same time he had an issue in his body in this realm God already had an answer in the realm of the spirit. And a lot of times people that have no revelation of the spiritual spend their time waiting on God to do something that is already done in the realm of the spirit. Look at Hebrews 4:1-3-- 4 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Notice, the works are already done, but if you don't know what's been done then you'll keep waiting instead of receiving. As Paul says in Ephesians 1:18 you need the eyes of your understanding enlightened by The Holy Spirit. So, now we have to choose how we are going to live our lives by truth or by facts.
It is not God's will that any should perish. And I wouldn't want to end this article without giving someone the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. It's very easy just pray: Dear God- I know I have sinned and I now turn from them and I invite Jesus to come into my heart (Revelation 3:20). He died for my sins and you have raised him from the dead and I now confess that Jesus is my Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9,10). I thank you for saving me, Amen
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name (John 1:12). 1 Timothy 2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Question, where those horses and chariots of fire just as real as those soldiers, yes. So, spiritual reality is just as real as physical reality, they both have substance just different forms of substance.
