I've been anerexic off & on a few times. Now im not, but im over weight, by 20 lbs. id like to know a safe way to lose weight, & a way to be active all the time, i always feel tired & i cant do anything to liven up..any advice??

Hi there sister

Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit therefore you should not be anorexic.

We have to maintain a balanced diet. Eat plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables.

Try and eat low fat foods too.

I used to feel tired and not have much vitality but these days seem to have more and enjoy eating healthy food. I also use apple cider vinegar which helps a lot of areas. Look up in google for apple cider vinegar. It sure has helped me. It also helps if you want to lose weight. You can buy tablets or take the liquid which is sold in a bottle.

Brisk walking is a good exercise to do. A good 30 minute walk each day.

God bless :rose: :rainbow:

I agree with sister LadylovesJesus. It is wrong to be anorexic, there's nothing good about it, you could actually die from it, since you don't get nourishment.

Sister Lady gave some good advice, I would also like to add, you should get some friends or relatives that can join you in walking or exercising. Try to see a doctor and have your blood pressure taken, also your blood sugar levels.

Being tired and worn out is almost 70% related to your blood pressure and sugar levels. You could also get diabetes if you don't eat right and have a sugar problem.

God bless you sister
Much love
teraside

I agree with teraside and Ladylovesjesus.

Please go to a doctor, too. You say you are 20 pounds overweight. By whose opinion? Perhaps you are not all that overweight and only may need to lose 5 pounds or none at all. I know from experience that when you have suffered anorexia....your analysis of your own body is often warped and over-critical. Have your blood pressure and blood sugar levels checked, as teraside mentioned.

God will direct you to do healthy things that will give you life and vitality. He wants you to take care of your body, for it is precious to Him, and it is the temple of the Holy Spirit.

Enjoy your food. Eat it slowly and drink lots of water. As LLJ said, enjoy lots of fruit and vegetables. Enjoy chicken and fish and red meat with the fat cut off of it before cooking. Make your portions smaller and learn to be satisfied with just a little less. If there need be any weight loss at all, make
it be gradual. The slower you lose weight, usually the less apt you are to gain it back. Exercise will make you enjoy life even more and help keep the weight from returning. It will also keep your heart healthy and lower your blood pressure.

Don't focus on the loss of weight. Read the bible and focus on the Living God and let Him give you life! The weight will come off gradually as you gain energy and use skills in changing your daily habits. God is good!

Since I married my husband (a bean lover, lol) almost 3 years ago, I have learned to love beans too. I know that sounds funny, and everybody's heard the jokes about beans. But there are so many types! And they are all good for you and full of protein and fiber. Mixed with a little rice or pasta, beans make a complete protein, without a lot of added fat or cholesterol. Also, beans have some natural appetite suppressant in them.

Jfreak....I had anorexia or close to anorexia, twice. It becomes an obcession. It is turning your eyes away from God. It's an idol. God loves you and wants you to be free. He created food for our enjoyment and to give life and nourishment to us!

Lol, I just looked at your profile after writing all this. You are 14 years old. My daughter is also 14. She thought she was really fat about a year ago. She nearly starved herself. I could see her getting thinner and thinner. I didn't know what to do, I just prayed and prayed and took her to counseling.

I felt so guilty....because ever since I'd had her little brother....I'd done nothing but complain about how fat I am....giving her a wrong impression of the importance of looks and body....I knew I had helped her form this opinion of herself that she was fat. I had to pray about my own views.

My daughter has now gained back an appropriate amount of weight and she looks great! She does not even know how pretty she is.

sweetie you are only 14 and being anorexic wasnt good for you or your body...Im very glad to hear that you arent anymore, but from all ive seen on tv its a struggle and that a person can only take one day at a time...I will be praying that God helps you through this and that He helps you do it in a way that keeps you healthy.

I would recommend you take a multi vitamin they are good for you and do give you energy...fruits and veggies are good for energy too. Light walking will keep you active and is fun too.

Know that God loves you and has made you special and you are worth taking care of always remember that. May His love and peace surround you always.

Precious sister....please relax....enjoy life....what does it matter if we are long, short, wide or narrow, heavy or light.

Yes I know...I do not know what I am talking about. Relating to this problem

I just want to express that I am very sure that in the plan of God Almighty, you have a place........just as you are.....right now indeed.

God Bless You

God bless you sister. Thank you for sharing with us your concerns. The first and greatest thing we can always do is pray in Jesus' name to the Father that He will take our problems and fix them for us in His perfect wisdom. Ask the Spirit to guide you to eat better, healthier and to enable your body to enjoy GOD's amazing natural fresh foods. GOD will help you keep a balanced diet and help you stay away from unhealthy foods.

GOD has helped me and others, will do for you as well.

God bless you

later..

after i got over being anerixic-sp- my mom had us move schools, which i thought was great, goin from public to a christian school was amazing, especially when its so tiny, we havent even been at the school a year yet, & there are only 2 guys older than me, so you think theyd be nice to new girls, well (no offense to guys) boys will be boys my mom says, & one day the oldest guy told one of my friends, that everytime my grandmother comes to pick me up her car sags, well when i get in he cant believe it doesnt scrape the ground, --- ever since she told me that ive never eaten at school again, only twice, but i cant stand him callin me fat again-- its been 6 weeks, but it still hurts, after he found out that he might cause us to go back to the public school he had his lil sis (another friend, that tells everything, never tell her a secret) call and she said someone wanted to talk to me, he told me how sorry he was & that the other boy was also in on it, but i dont think he realy was,, & ive forgiven him but it still stings, knowin that this is a christian school & still they do just like the public school, i suppose its everywhere, im a very shy person & had just broken out of the shell my mom has put around my sis me & herself, & that i had constructed, but now im back in my shell again, & i dont know what to do, b/c ive been hurt alot in my life, my dad left, & all , i still feel fat,i always have, & ive been to a doctor awhile back he said i need to watch the weight, but otherwise im fine, & i play volleyball, & basketball so i get my exercise, but i always feel so tired, & i run its like ive told some friends be4 its like everythings moving around me but im not goin ne where, its like im dead, no one sees me or hears me but God & that hurts
alot, ive said more than i wanted to say, but i guess u can read it & understand alil about what im goin through

Jesus is the one who heals all our hurts sister. I went through a bad time at school being picked on and I used to be in a shell too.

God has delivered me from all even the inferiority complex I used to have.

I empathise with you and life is tough. I feel we were too well protected and came out of it so naive too.

Like you say no matter where you go Christian school or normal they will have children who do not act as God would want them to.

Unfortunately, a lot of young people will think they are fat and no matter what anyone tells them will not believe they are not.

By the way, this is what may have also helped me to get more vitality and energy, I take multi vitamins and minerals every day as well as cider vinegar tablets.

Try and show the love of Jesus inside of you to others and be an example of how one should behave.

It is too easy for hurt people to hurt others.

Did you know that Jesus knew you before you were born?

Read Psalm 139. It is a beautiful Psalm.

13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

This is just a small part of the Psalm.

We are not to be people pleasers but God pleasers.

I used to try and please people and rely on my feelings but that did not work. Now I have learnt to just try and obey God and please Him and not rely on feelings which only let me down.

Hope this is helpful to you sis. If you want to talk give me a shout.

God bless  :rainbow: :rose:

I too went through a hard time when I was in both elementry and high school. Kids used to call me names and beat on my back and make fun of me and it hurt alot and I felt very little self worth by the time I reached high school. Praise God He brought me through all of that and brought me out of inferiority and persecution complexes....its hard to over come but with God everything is possible and He will be there and will lift you up.

Kids can be cruel and its up to parents to see they raise their children right and are good examples after all its where kids learn how to act from. Im sorry for the pain those boys caused you, but know this..... they don't know you as God does....God knows you inside and out....He thinks you are beautiful and loves you very much. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Did you know God has plans for you and that you are special....well, you are.

Keep your eyes on Jesus....lean on Him and He will bring you through this tough time. I will be praying for you.

Jfreak, could it be that you are slightly depressed, or in need of encouragement? You say you have no energy. For one so young, your lack of energy is a concern.

Dear God, I pray for this sweet sister that You would fill her up to the rim with your glory, life, peace, joy, perseverance, and love. Praise You, Jesus, for you want to teach her of many things beyond her grasp. They are now within her reach because of what You have done, because of your love for her and dying on the cross so that she can receive life.

Jesus, do your work in this young lady and we thank You and praise You for all things. In Jesus name, Amen.

Amen.
Jfreak, I am with everybody who has posted.

If anyone has some type of eating disorder, they are going to be depleted of vital nutrients and vitamins and minerals. Just recently I read an article about magnesium, that too much calcium can cancel out the magnesium in our bodies, that we need a balance. In turn, we can be tired, not sleep soundly, have all sorts of muscle aches and pains etc......all because of this one mineral, magnesium. So can you imagine how our bodies must be deficient of other vitamins/minerals, if we are binging, or throwing up, or just not eating.

This is probably why you have no energy at such a young age, Even though you are no longer anorexic it is still possible you have created an inbalance within your body, because of the poor eating habits. It is important to eat small amounts regularly, fresh natural foods, to start building up your lost stores of nutrients. Also another biggie, is you must drink plenty, if we are not drinking enough water, we also can become lethargic.

Father God, I pray for this precious young girl, Lord I pray that you use these posts to speak to her heart and mind. I ask you Lord to guide her and help her to take care of her body and treat it as you would want her. Help jfreak know that you love her so much, and may she know that you are right there by her side, that she can always rely and trust you Lord. Thank you God for your goodness, your mercy and love, I pray these things in Jesus name. Amen.
