Do you think this is Selfish?

This doesn't have much to do with Jesus except for the fact that I'm afraid I might be being selfish. Here is my problem: I have crooked and crowded teeth. In the past they haven't bothered me at all that they don't look nice, but since my wisdom teeth have been coming in, they have become even more crowded and now... painful. I've been thinking about asking for donations to help me get some treatment because I don't have the money to pay for it myself. I'm not trying to make a dollar or anything, but I'm honestly a poor college student and I need something done about my aching teeth. It's about 5,000 dollars to get the teeth pulled and orthodontics to to make my teeth straight. I know it's a lot to ask, but the lord did say "Ask and you shall receive," didn't he? What shall I do in my hours of need?

If you have any information or idea's about what I can do, please let me know.

I don't think that you are selfish, having had the experience with painful wisdom teeth I can truly sympathize with you. It is really very painful and it will get only worse if you don't get help.

What I do want to suggest is that instead of asking for donations, ask God to provide for you. I believe that He will.

Mat 7:7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

I will pray with you.

Blessings!

God works in many ways He can supply the money through donations why not - of course He can.

I don't know your circumstances and what your relationship with God is because it will make a big difference in how God will supply. You must remember that everyone's life is unique and God will meet you in your unique circumstances.

Praying and asking God for help is the best way to go. I don't know why God haven't answered your prayer yet, it could be due to many things happening in your life.
The only One that can answer you is God, speak to Him He hears every word that you pray and He will not ignore your urgent request He will answer your prayer.

"Father please supply the money that mbellon05 needs. You said in Your word that we must ask and it will be given to us. Please speak to her heart and let her know whether she must act to get the money that You will provide or whether You will supply it to her in faith. I thank You Father and praise You, may Your Name be glorified through this request. In Jesus Name Amen."

Blessings!

I am so sorry brother I am a little bit distracted today.

Remember I'm praying for you and I request anyone reading this post to pray for our brother as well.

"Psalm 55:22 Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved."

Blessings!

Hi there,

You might consider seeing if you have any dental schools nearby... why? In two different states I lived near them and they offer services at a much reduced rate. Something to pray about and consider.

I do know that the Lord provides as we don't have good health insurance right now (aka we pay a monthly fee and have a really high deductable) and I had to go to the Chiropractor (was in severe pain), and the Lord reminded me of the free appt. card I had from the Dr. for my Birthday. What a blessing! I have one more from a referral - God provides in different ways that's for sure!

Blessings,
T
