Blessings!

i feel like an outsider, strange, I joined another forum, people began putting me down, saying I needed help, all because I am doing a long fast for the Lord, why do people act like this?

The Bible teaches us to fast, Jesus spoke about fasting, I know that my thoughts, mind, body spirit is very clear and pure from not eating or drinking water, I need very little sleep at all, and a major percentage of difficult scriptures have become a complete revelation and deeper understanding of the scriptures.

My empathy and compassion for the world and all its people is a feeling like I cannot even explain, I receive very clear messages from the Lord I have been over 21 days now without food or water, and my energy is great, my body feels fine, I am not hungry or thirsty, I feel closer to God than ever before in my 30 plus years walk with the Lord.

Can someone share with me their experiences about fasting?

God Bless you all.

Fasting does not bring you closer to the Lord. It disciplines the flesh.
Fasting does not build faith - it disciplines the flesh.

To purposefully do long fast constantly will tear you down. God made the body to need, water, food and rest.

Blessings to you

Claims over the net, where one can lie about anything and often get away with it, if they are good at lying, means that not only will most people discount what you say (thats why Jesus went out among the people, and taught and preached first hand). Even the epistles which were written to others (not in person) were done so by those who spent a lot of time in person to prove their words. In the end times there will be many trying to lead others astray, to gather their own following. Plus when we talk much about our personal fasting, it can easily fall into the point Jesus made about the Pharisees and such making a big deal about our fasting or public prayers, that we are fall into the pit of pride of self and what wonderful things we do, and that others should follow us because we are so holy. In other words, be Holy, dont proclaim how holy we are.

I am not judging you, I am just telling you how it is, and how many christians will feel about it. Me personally, I am a bit saddened when proclaimed christians try to convince others how holy they are by words alone, but we all fall short in our own ways and it doesnt negate that we have a good relationship to God in some way.

HI Paula

Fasting is a great thing and its in the bible. Any time we can practice obedience to the word I believe it has a direct relationship with faith. I do not see how anyone can have faith with out obedience. So fast on is what I say.
Now we have to be very careful in our intentions on speaking about it when we are doing it because the bible give clear warnings that if you go around bragging about it you might as well not do it,
Matthew 6:16-18
“And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

So it seems our intentions on fasting are just as important as the act of fasting. So I have to ask if its working so good why were you discussing it to begin with??

I fast sometimes. It's like telling your self that what you want is "on hold" right now. Your spirit comes first. What's cool is when you end the fast, you get ready to eat and it's like your body says, "Is it okay?" Instead of it being in control, now it is submitted to your conscious choice of whether to give to the needs you have. It's like you are submitted to your spirit instead of your spirit having to always wait around until your body gets everything it wants. Don't know if this makes perfect sense, but it's what I've discovered from fasting.
