If you have problems, try reading Psalm 42:1-11
This psalmist seems to swing like a pendulum, he / she loves God, God loves Him / her, then suddenly fed up (disquieted), then back praising. If this rings a bell, take comfort that it's nothing new. This contributor managed to get their thoughts in the Bible, how special is that? The author recalls that it wasn't always like that, recalling happier times (verse 4) but that was then, now things are distinctly downhill. Throughout he / she is feeling very isolated, alone: where's God? Head knowledge overcomes feelings, verse 11, for I shall yet praise Him.
Something else that's not new: attitudes towards mental health problems -
As with a breaking of my bones, My enemies reproach me, While they say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” Psalms 42:10 NKJV
Focus on God, He's more than just a happy, warm feeling. Focus on Him!
