Does God Tempt Us?

When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me."

For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.

Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

Let the children come

The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus was irate and let them know it: "Don't push these children away. Don't ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God's kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you'll never get in."

Then, gathering the children up in his arms, he laid his hands of blessing on them.

Amen to this sister! Thanks for sharing this devotional. The Scripture quoted makes it clear that GOD is for us (redemption), not against us (temptation).

Praise Jesus Christ for giving us His strength in His name to overcome temptations and acheive victory in Him promised by GOD Himself.

Purposes of Temptation....JAMES 1:5,6...."Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations." JAMES 1:2-4, 12-16...."

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
