Doubt!!

Thomas did.( john 20:24-28) Why did Jesus let Thomas doubt for 8 days?? Ever think of this?( john 20:26) Now is doubt a feeling,or an action? or both? When we do something we know is sin,and we repent of it,but yet feel so guilty of it,Is this doubt? What is the purpose of doubt? Why do some doubt from time to time?

Is it natural for all to doubt? ready??? YES!!!! It is very normal to doubt!! The key to understanding what doubt is,determines where doubt leads us to?? Here with Thomas after 8 days of doubting,Jesus himself came,so he would not doubt. Doubt serves a purpose.

It serves as one who needs even more of the Word inside them.As I believe we all do! You see brothers and sister when I had doubt, it was only because I had nothing to replace my doubt with!! We have God's Word,but it can do use no good, if we do not put some of this Word to our Memory. That is why God gave us a brain.To store when times get lean for us. Doubt is created, from guilt,either by what we do,or say.

I just cannot figure this out? Who said you are suppose to figure out everything in God's Word? We know in part!!( 1 Cor 13:12) and what comes right after this verse???? YEP!!! That which we can have no doubt of!! God's own LOVE!! verse 13!! Then chapter 13 to confirm verse 13!!! Love cannot doubt,Love may not always understand beyond what love is for,which is to simply do what the Word says it does, love!

If you have a pet,like a dog or cat,what that animal does not know, it understands through your love for that creature! That it does know!! And yes so do we! Because we could never give any love,without first understanding that love has no doubt to it,love is just what the Word says it is.

We give this,because we ourselves first received this from our Lord Jesus. Many preachers will rebuke doubt, they will tell you that if you have doubt you do not have faith! Making the one who doubts feel like 2 cents waiting for change! Heaping even more guilt upon themselves! causing that brother or that sister to stumble!( matt 18:6-7)

When doubt replaces our faith,then doubt is REAL BAD!!!( james 1:6-7 The only way this can take place, is if the person who doubts stays in doubt! We stay in doubt for as long as we choose to stay in this! FREE!!! WILL!! We are free( Gal 5:13-15) notice verse 15 BUT IF YOU!! we have a choice! Now it is true!! I could take the very tough side of doubt if I wanted to,I could make those who doubt feel so bad about it,that they would be in a much deeper hole then they are already in!! BUT!! WHY!!! Would I do that??

The purpose of doubt, is to become free from it! But we have to find out how!! And then the answer of why we doubted in the first place become self evident! I have known many dear brothers and sister who doubt! I have as well!! When this happens now to me,when the thought of choosing to doubt comes knocking at my door,I do not let it in anymore like I used to.

I have Jesus and his Word to replace this with,but his Word would do me no good unless!!I place my faith and love in it! Yes Brothers and sisters, I truly believe we must LOVE!! God's Word! For by loving God's own Word, we in turn Love Jesus who is the Word!!( john 1:1) And the purpose of this?? To stay free in our Lord!! ALL!! the time! No matter what mountain comes before us.( luke 1:37) We can choose to believe this,or not believe it,but if we choose not to believe this,then we cannot come crying to anyone!

There was a time I myself was this way!! I would feel so sorry for myself,I would say things like God does not love me anymore!! Are you kidding me??NOPE!! So then after some strong discipline from the Lord I snapped out of it! Here is what I really doubt!!! I doubt that anyone here, or wherever you are has all the answers!! I sure know I do not!!No doubt needed there!! LOL I know I do not have all the answers!!

But Jesus does,and has given us his Word not to hold up others books with,but to study,to show our selfs approved a workman unto the Lord!( 2 Tim 2:11-15) The Lord cannot doubt his own Word.verse 15! Jesus is the living Word! I have given all possible grace with this!! I needed it myself many times,but never got it! I suffered greatly because some wanted to condemn my doubt rather then show me how not to have it!

I never condemn any here!! I am not here to judge a single soul!!I am here my brothers and sister to show you Christ in me! Now one more point I would like to make. ( 1 cor 13:11) when!!!! I was a child!! We are expected to grow up as well! I know people in the Lord who still need milk,and cannot handle any meat yet to this very day!! why?? Doubt?? NOPE!!!! They wish to stay as they are! That is the good hard truth to the matter!

They think by staying as children in the Word,they will not become accountable!! LOL I thought this once myself!! Oh NO!!! God did not die and rise again so we could be baby's all our life in him!! When a baby bird is born,it is taken care of,because how can the baby take care of itself?

Or when your wife has a baby, she cannot expect that baby to follow her out the door of the hospital!!LOL BUT!!! one day the child grows up,and whether or not that child likes it or not they do become accountable! So do we in Christ my brothers and sisters!! SO DO WE!!

Doubt in a measure, is acceptable, when very young in the Lord,God understands!! But when we grow up,we are to learn why we no longer need doubt as part of our being. ( eph 3:17-19) verse 18 we comprehend when we know that only Jesus and his love surpasses our knowledge! And just accept his LOVE! I am giving all grace and mercy to those who doubt,just do not allow yourself to stay that way! Since Jesus called you,and choose you!( john 15:16) you can expect Jesus to come to you as well!! He did it for Thomas,he will for us as well! To remove doubt we must first know why we have it,then through our loving Jesus,let him remove it!Praise God! And you know what??HE WILL TO!!!Thank you Jesus!!

Thanks for posting this Brighthouse - just what I need to read at the moment. I want to ask you about unbelief - which I'm thinking is what happens when doubt has been there for a long time. I think I've asked you this before but I can't find the post - sorry - i seem to be stuck on this again. What is the best way to tackle unbelief?

sister Halva. I will only speak for myself on this one sister! I honestly!!! do not believe for one second after we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior that we doubt anything!!! he is, or can do! What we have unbelief in, even as the disciples also did.( please check this scripture out!( Matt 26:56) but why??? After all they heard and saw!! why and how???

Could they fulfill the scripture in this area?? Does God share his glory with anyone? Nor will God share his death with anyone! That is why Jesus said why back in matt 16:24-26) IF!!!! anyone!! Not forced by God to anyone!! Had any of the disciples went with Jesus on the cross,if would have been because they believed they had no choice to do so.AH!! But they did!

Jesus also showed what it really means for us to follow! We have to die to self,but the problem for so many including myself, is to fully do this!And because most fully do not this,I hate to say this!! We suffer because of it! We want to do it!! We know we need to,but! always that but!

Now it is a lie if we say we cannot do it,because if this were true Jesus would have never said to follow! But the price to really follow is very high! We all find this out in at least some area of our life!! So now in our minds we feel we must have some unbelief!! How many times have I been at this point in my own life?? WOW!!! TO many!

But this does have a purpose!! We just cannot look to ourselfs in any area of our life anymore!! WE did this before, and look what it got us! YUCK! God knows our every weakness,he knows we do love him,and are doing our best in spite of our minds telling us we are not!

The purpose to this in our mind from the enemy is to get us to quit!! I mean really!! why bother!! you can never achieve what you desire in the Lord anyway,is the voice in our minds we hear! Is this not suffering? YOU BET!! it is! It goes with following! We suffer in many more ways then most people think!

Paul was such a man,please read rom7:15-25! then yet again Paul suffered!!Please read (2 Cor 12:6-10!!) Does the love of Jesus ever end?? Of course not,nor does our suffering for him! We just have to always take our Jesus as close as we possibly can!! And keep him close! By remembering his very Word to us,and yes my sister for us!!

A blanket when we get cold in our mind or body! A shield for when the flaming arrows are thrown by another( eph 6:10 -20) We put on this shied so we can remain strong in the Lord! His Word becomes our Word! His life becomes ours in him! If for one second we ever thought we do not need God's Word anymore because we have no battles left to fight,then what purpose would God's Word ever have??

But we always battle! If not in life,then really in mind! Hence the need forever to stay in his Holy Word! Our comforter!!!( Holy Spirit) ( God's Word) (Jesus our God) 3 in one! This revelation was given to me by Holy Spirit just today! I sure believe it myself sister! I cannot speak for others,nor will I. It is not easy to take God at his Word,if we do not stay in his Word! Hence why we always need to! For our very strength,and yes LIFE! I hope this helps you and others who face this monster everyday! I am so thankful to God for his grace and mercy and favor, and love!

I finally have taken God at his Word! This I have found out, is how we can have his peace which surpasses all understanding!( Philippians 4:6-9) We can have peace with self,because we can have peace in Jesus!!( john 14:1,and verse 27) we have what we take in him sister! and we take what we need in Him!! Praise God for HIS Wisdom!! amen!

"Do you believe because you see me"? is questioning of Thomas' faith.

Endorsement of faith, on the other hand, is "How happy are those who believe without seeing me!"

The difference is based on the absence or presence of vision of Christ's immortality as taught, demonstrated and documented for our verification.

I have learned and always said Doubt is a lack of faith.

I would say that doubt, rather than being exactly a lack of faith, is something that leads a person to question their faith ... I thought that was what was being said ... that if you respond to doubt by pursuing truth through study and seeking God, then you can actually grow.

That is why Paul wrote, "Put yourselves to the test and judge yourselves, to find out whether you are living in faith. Surely you know that Christ Jesus is in you? --unless you have completely failed."
(2 Cor. 13:5)

In other words, faith is personally authored and autographed by Jesus Christ in the transferal of his divine image, a.k.a., "God's life-giving Spirit", to the believer to be in his perfect and diacritical death on the cross!
