Downloading stuff

Ok, I really need to get a Biblical perspective on this issue.

I know that we MUST NOT steal. But is downloading software, movies and songs from the internet wrong? If so then when is downloading NOT wrong? What if I decide to convert a youtube video to an mp3 file and then download it?

Downloading from sites like CNET - is that wrong considering that it's a legal website?

when a manufacturer/creator gives you his online wares for free download, it's alright i guess.

paid for music and video files are alright too, unless being provided for free by the artist/recording company/holder of suitable rights.

youtube is mainly piracy, again, unless the content is being provided for free by the artist/recording company/holder of suitable rights.

cnet is alright too because it consists of shareware, software that is free and meant to be shared. however, how you use this software ('convert a youtube video to an mp3 file and then download it' is pretty much piracy) leaves the question open again.
