SignUp Now!Games are usually a good thing. Bringing people together for fun. It goes bad though when an addiction developes. You could say the game possesses them. Another thing with D&D is its dark side. The makers of that game strive to make it as relistic as possible. So some of the spells and rituals in the play are real.A lady I know from bible study is involved in it with her husband. Its concerning but dont really know what to say to her. She doesnt attend church that often, very rarely and often without her husband. Our bible study doesnt meet anymore but at the time she was going regularly to the study but would not actually fellowship at church and I wondered why. It was because of this dungeons and dragons rpg group. It was like she was paying lipservice to God when she did attend.
Its not her that Im concerned (is that the word) so much because she is so into it and her choice but her two children will be influenced and they are young. Maybe God will show her but she can be quite wilful and stubborn over what she wants to do and how to live her life. Its like the games takes over so she will be spending all her free time doing that and being 'games master' instead of following Him.
Anyway I once asked around on another christian forum and a few people got all angry about it and said it was harmless. So I dont know. To me it appears evil, I mean you pretend to cast spells and other occult things. They have dragons stuff all in their house.
The other ladies in the bible study kept praying for her and encouraging her to come to church more often but she seemed to always have an excuse. Although with the children she did say to me she would make an effort to come for their sake. We never saw her husband in church although she claimed he became a believer when he married her.
Im just giving it to God though. I mean I taught children whos parents were not believers in school but you cant really teach the parents if they choose not to listen. I often thought why cant the parents be teaching their children faith instead of leaving it to others...
Personally i would not mess with occult things as thats rebellion against our Lord. I dont like this attitude that we think we know better and ignore Him, or thinking oh I am special and favoured so that His ways dont really apply, especially when she was raised in church and been a christian for much longer.
It wasnt just her I had another friend/workmate who was raised in church but she also was reading occult or horror fantasies and even enrolled in a witchcraft course, God basically led me away from her I wasnt to hang out with her anymore and another one who was into horrorscopes, all of them were kind of seeking God but at the same time kind of just weren't listening to Him!
The ways of the darkness titilate the mind as well as your emotions. Its whole purpose, to draw you away from God.A lady I know from bible study is involved in it with her husband.
