1Cor 6:9; Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,
1Cor 6:10; nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

Deut 22:5; "A woman shall not wear man's clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman's clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God.

Cross-dressing in another sin that is called an abomination. Effeminate men will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
I think everyone goes through a period in their life, where they wish they were made differently. I should have been taller, smarter, richer, or prettier. I should have been made, Black or Asian or Caucasian, or Native American.
God should have given me larger genitals, or bigger breasts. I should have had blue eyes and blonde hair or I shouldn't have had freckles. Usually this happens in teenage years and is passed off as a passing whimsy.
Some people think they were born the wrong gender. The problem with this, is that in order to believe it, is you have to believe God made a mistake when He made you. You have to believe God isn't omnipotent, He doesn't
know everything... and He made me the wrong way.

Psa 139:13; For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother's womb.
Isa 44:2; Thus says the LORD who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you, 'Do not fear, O Jacob My servant; And you Jeshurun whom I have chosen.
Isa 44:24; Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, and the one who formed you from the womb, "I, the LORD, am the maker of all things, Stretching out the heavens by Myself And spreading out the earth all alone,
Jer 1:5; "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you; I have appointed you a prophet to the nations."

The Lord God made you. He made you uniquely like you are for a purpose. He knew you before you were even formed in your mother's womb. He knew your name and the kind of person you had the potential to be.
Now in some cases, people are born handicapped, with physiological infirmities.

Matt 19:12; "For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother's womb; and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are also eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. He who is able to accept this, let him accept it."
Acts 3:2; And a man who had been lame from his mother's womb was being carried along, whom they used to set down every day at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, in order to beg alms of those who were entering the temple.
Acts 14:8; At Lystra a man was sitting who had no strength in his feet, lame from his mother's womb, who had never walked.

I don't know why God makes some people the way they are, I don't have all the answers... but sometimes it's for God's glory.

John 9:1; As He passed by, He saw a man blind from birth.
John 9:2; And His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?"
John 9:3; Jesus answered, "It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

Sometimes this life is hard. The grass is always greener on the "other side" of the fence.
Women think... "If only I could be a man, I would be stronger. I would make more money. I could walk alone at night without being afraid. I wouldn't have to raise children. I wouldn't have to do this or that. I wouldn't have to have sex if I don't want to."
Men think... "If only I could be a woman, I would have someone to lean on. Someone to take care of me. I wouldn't have the pressure of having to support my family. I wouldn't have to go to work everyday."
The grass is always greener... until you're the one who has to pay the water bill. Most of the time, people don't realize how good it was on the original side of the fence.
Now some people go as far as having surgery done to change their gender. They have their bodies mutilated to become something that God didn't intend for them to be.
For most people it's simply a psychological thing. I "relate" as a man or a woman. Therefore I believe I am a man or a woman, and because I believe it... everyone around me has to believe it as well.
The question becomes why should everyone around you believe your fantasy.
Your lie. Why are people being forced to believe a lie?

1Cor 11:3; But I want you to understand that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of a woman, and God is the head of Christ.
1Cor 11:4; Every man who has something on his head while praying or prophesying disgraces his head.
1Cor 11:5; But every woman who has her head uncovered while praying or prophesying disgraces her head, for she is one and the same as the woman whose head is shaved.
1Cor 11:6; For if a woman does not cover her head, let her also have her hair cut off; but if it is disgraceful for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, let her cover her head.
1Cor 11:7; For a man ought not to have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.
1Cor 11:8; For man does not originate from woman, but woman from man;
1Cor 11:9; for indeed man was not created for the woman's sake, but woman for the man's sake.
1Cor 11:10; Therefore the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.
1Cor 11:11; However, in the Lord, neither is woman independent of man, nor is man independent of woman.
1Cor 11:12; For as the woman originates from the man, so also the man has his birth through the woman; and all things originate from God.
1Cor 11:13; Judge for yourselves: is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?
1Cor 11:14; Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him,
1Cor 11:15; but if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her? For her hair is given to her for a covering.
1Cor 11:16; But if one is inclined to be contentious, we have no other practice, nor have the churches of God.

The Bible has different rules and roles for men and women. Men are expected to look and acts a certain way. Women are expected to look and act a certain way.
I've heard people say.. "Well didn't Jesus have long hair?" Well, first there is no evidence of that, as we have no pictures of Him. But even if it was a little longer than
say the conservative style of today, it was almost certainly shorter than a woman's hair of that time.

Deut 22:5; "A woman shall not wear man's clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman's clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD your God.

1Tim 2:9; Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments,
1Tim 2:10; but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.
1Tim 2:11; A woman must quietly receive instruction with entire submissiveness.
1Tim 2:12; But I do not allow a woman to teach or exercise authority over a man, but to remain quiet.
1Tim 2:13; For it was Adam who was first created, and then Eve.
1Tim 2:14; And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.
1Tim 2:15; But women will be preserved through the bearing of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.

Now that last verse is controversial, some women are unable to have children. There are at least 3 famous women in the Bible who were unable to have children, at least for a long time. ( Hannah, Rachel, Sarah )
But in these cases, they were eventually able to have children. But some women are born without the ability to conceive a child. Still all women have wombs. Men do not.
If you have a womb, you are a woman. Only women have the ability to get pregnant.

At the risk if sounding misogynist (God is a misogynist!!) God expects women to stay home and raise children. He expects men to go out, work and provide for their families.

1Tim 5:8; But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

Again, there are people who are unable to have children for whatever reason. There are handicapped people who unable to work for whatever reason. But it appears that God's plan for humanity
was...

Gen 1:22; God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."
Gen 1:28; God blessed them; and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

God wasn't talking about taking math class here. The point being, two women can't make a baby. Two men can't make a baby. Men make poor mothers.

Luke 11:27; While Jesus was saying these things, one of the women in the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You and the breasts at which You nursed."

Men do not have breasts to nurse children with. All of this sounds like common sense, and yet Satan has deceived so many people. The majority of college students in today's society believe this way.
As a rule, all the warriors in the Bible are men. There are exceptions, Jael for example kills Sisera. ( Judges 4 )

In fact all the evidence in the "great experiment" of this current age, proves that men are stronger and faster than women. Over 100 high school boys are able to run faster than the fastest woman in the Olympics.
Whenever a biological male ( who "relates as a female" ) competes in women's sports. The males almost always win. The US Marines and Army has done studies where certain women ( who want to do this )
have participated in physical combat with men. I'll let you guess who win's 100% of the time. There are a lot of movies out today that encourage women warriors. A couple of movies with this theme are "Wakanda",
and "The Woman King". It's like they are trying to weaken our society on purpose for some reason.
There have been further studies that conclusively prove effeminate men are a lot less willing to fight battles than masculine men. In fact it appears that "femininity" is a lot more toxic than masculinity.
The other thing no one tells you is.. the majority men who are captured in a war, are killed or imprisoned. The majority of women captured in a war... well, they are imprisoned too... for a different purpose.

I had a very good friend about 25 years ago. We still keep in touch from time to time. I wouldn't say he was effeminate really, but he was a really nice guy.... a really really nice guy.
He was about my age, not a bad looking man. He had a good job. But usually women went on one date with him and that was it. He is in his 60's now and he still has never been married.
He had a huge crush on a woman in church for a couple of years, and she liked him as a friend, but never wanted it to go past that. About 10 years later, I ran into this lady again, and
I asked her... What was wrong with my friend.

She said the problem was... he was a really nice guy. I must have given her a questioning look. She said, you never have to worry about a "nice guy" physically abusing you.
I said .. isn't that a good thing? She said yes, but they can be so nice that they never hurt anyone. I asked what she meant. She said she wouldn't feel safe walking alone with him at
night in a bad part of town. Not because she was afraid of him. But because she didn't feel he would protect her if they were confronted or assaulted. Now my friend isn't gay.
But for some reason, she added... no women ever looks at an effeminate guy and says "That's sexy!"

Girls want guys who have a little bit of an edge to them. A guy who isn't going to let everyone walk all over them. A guy who is willing to stand up for his beliefs and values.
A guy who will fight for me if it ever comes to that. A guy who will protect his family no matter what. Sometimes.. you can be "too nice".

What do you mean when you say misogynist - a standard dictionary definition is "a person who dislikes, despises, or is strongly prejudiced against women". Surely you don't believe God despises women?

As for staying at home, there is plenty of biblical evidence to the contrary. The women who left their homes and husbands to join Jesus' group of traveling disciples for example:

Soon afterward [Jesus] went on through cities and villages, proclaiming and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him, and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s household manager, and Susanna, and many others, who provided for them out of their means. (Luke 8:1–3)

It appears to be a moving target.

What causes misogynistic behavior?

Misogyny isn’t a mental health condition. It’s an attitude and a belief that may involve complex underlying factors such as core belief systems, cultural norms, and childhood experiences.

Religious constructs

Some religions, such as those founded in Christianity, teach that woman came after man, was made out of a part of his body, and was created as his companion to be under his care.

This framework may be sometimes perceived as implied inferiority. Along with the belief of some religions that women ushered sin into the world, religion could contribute to a negative bias against females, which in turn, could contribute to misogyny.

In general, if you believe men should provide for women, and women should stay home and raise children, you can be considered misogynistic.

As for staying at home, there is plenty of biblical evidence to the contrary. The women who left their homes and husbands to join Jesus' group of traveling disciples for example:

I gave an example myself. It's not for absolutely everyone. But as a blanket statement, it's God plan for women to raise the children.

1Cor 11:7; For a man ought not to have his head covered, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man.
1Cor 11:8; For man does not originate from woman, but woman from man;
1Cor 11:9; for indeed man was not created for the woman's sake, but woman for the man's sake.

"Effeminism" is typically a physical (Chromosomal) disorder. Used to be called "Kleinfelter syndrome". A Normally occurring physical condition where a Male is born with an extra "X" chromosome. It's uncurable.

It has nothing to do, in and of itself, with "unrighteousness".

The Bible clearly says this is a sin.

1 Corinthians 6:9
(AMPC) Do you not know that the unrighteous and the wrongdoers will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived (misled): neither the impure and immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who participate in homosexuality,

Some Bibles leave out the word "effeminiate". However the word in all the Greek manuscripts here is...

μαλακός
malakos
mal-ak-os'
Of uncertain affinity; soft, that is, fine (clothing); figuratively a catamite: - effeminate, soft.
Total KJV occurrences: 4

Many girls look for the bad boy I mean we do especially in the younger years but it gets old the fighting the jail time the girls on the side the drinking n drugging the street life it's a fast life n the smart ones we leave it we find no interest in any of it

My husband he's a nice guy but that doesn't mean he wouldn't lay down it's the quiet ones people need to be weary of cause one has no idea what monster lays beneath the surface

N fyi if ya ask him wat he thinks of himself lol he'll tell ya he's beautiful :joy:

Truth b told

I may have said the word "home". But I concede it isn't so much home, as raising the children.
Ok. How did you come to the belief that God expects women to raise children?

Very enlightening thread thanks Ray for posting it, never even knew the word or that it was in the bible.

Ok. How did you come to the belief that God expects women to raise children?

I never said God expects them to do it alone, but men are to be the providers for the family. Obviously there are some cases where the father has no choice but to raise children. (Wife is in-firmed, wife is dead, wife is mentally incapable, etc... )

1Tim 2:15; But women will be preserved through the bearing (raising) of children if they continue in faith and love and sanctity with self-restraint.
1Tim 5:4; but if any widow has children or grandchildren, they must first learn to practice piety in regard to their own family and to make some return to their parents; for this is acceptable in the sight of God.
1Tim 5:10; having a reputation for good works; and if she has brought up children, if she has shown hospitality to strangers, if she has washed the saints' feet, if she has assisted those in distress, and if she has devoted herself to every good work.
1Tim 5:14; Therefore, I want younger widows to get married, bear children, keep house, and give the enemy no occasion for reproach;

2Cor 12:14; Here for this third time I am ready to come to you, and I will not be a burden to you; for I do not seek what is yours, but you; for children are not responsible to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.
1Thes 2:7; But we proved to be gentle among you, as a nursing mother tenderly cares for her own children.

Acts 21:5; When our days there were ended, we left and started on our journey, while they all, with wives and children, escorted us until we were out of the city. After kneeling down on the beach and praying, we said farewell to one another.

Luke 13:34; "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it!
Is a hen male or female? In fact in all of nature, who primarily raises children, the male or female? (admittedly is often a joint venture, children should not be raised without a father either).

Luke 7:35; "Yet wisdom is vindicated by all her children."

Ezek 16:44; "Behold, everyone who quotes proverbs will quote this proverb concerning you, saying, 'Like mother, like daughter.'
Where would a daughter primarily learn the ways of her mother?

Song 8:2; "I would lead you and bring you Into the house of my mother, who used to instruct me; I would give you spiced wine to drink from the juice of my pomegranates.
Prov 29:15; The rod and reproof give wisdom, But a child who gets his own way brings shame to his mother.
Prov 6:20; My son, observe the commandment of your father And do not forsake the teaching of your mother;
Prov 1:8; Hear, my son, your father's instruction And do not forsake your mother's teaching;
Psa 131:2; Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child rests against his mother, My soul is like a weaned child within me.

Where should a child learn their values from? A corrupt education system that indoctrinates them? Or from their mother?
Which is more likely to teach them about God/Jesus/The Bible?

It seems even the secular world knows this.

Yup - Kleinfelter Syndrome - a KNOWN Chromosomal disorder. About 50,000 live births every year are affected. Kleinfelter males tend to be NON-Sexual. BUT they tend to be more "At home" in the Homosexual community.

Oh, and in case you didn't realize it, SIN can be cleansed - the Calvary thing.

I don't find any of those verses a solid proof of what you are claiming. If you find that the cultural pattern of men being the main breadwinner, woman raising children and running the household suits you best, I see no problem with that. But you haven't shown that this is God's will.

In the UK at least, very few families can afford to live on one salary - so most couples share in earning a wage and raising children. Some families I know, the wife is more career-focussed and has greater earning potential than the man, so he takes a bigger share of the childcare. I don't see anything in the Bible that says this is wrong in God's sight.

In the UK at least, very few families can afford to live on one salary - so most couples share in earning a wage and raising children.

It is mostly the same in the US unfortunately. Ironically I hear some couples it takes all of one salary entirely for a couple of children to be in daycare. I ask myself, if there is no financial benefit,
why not take care of them yourself? It wasn't always this way here in the US, when I was born it was almost unheard of for women to have full time jobs. Before this, a lot of women entered
the workforce at the start of WWII. To build planes, tanks and jeeps for soldiers at war. When the war was over, the majority work back to being housewives. The word "housewives" is interesting
in that isn't really an equivalent "House-husbands" word. There was move made here in the US a few decades ago called "Mister Mom", it was a comedy about a husband staying home and raising
children. Part of the appeal of the movie was the fact that the traditional roles were reversed. Growing up, my mom and all my friends mothers were stay at home moms. However, my wife works.
(She will probably retire this year, but admittedly she worked for a few decades)

Perhaps we don't agree on roles in the Bible for parents, and that's OK. But I will say this, whether it's a man or women raising the children, they are much better off with a stay at home parent
than being raised by a nanny, daycare, pre-school, etc... In my experience, grand parents are better than these things, but no replacement for the parents.
Even when kids are older (teenagers?) they are really being raised by television, video games, indoctrination educators, cell phones and the secular world culture.
Part of this is because we have become more materialistic and narcissistic. We (need?) 3 or 4 new cards, 3 or 4 televisions, the latest and greatest cell phones for ourselves and our children.
We need bigger televisions, newer game consoles, a bigger truck, a longer boat and faster internet... .. now do we really NEED those things to survive? Of course not... but we want them, and we
are willing to sacrifice the raising of our children to get them ( again, not all-inclusive blanket statement ) .. I can't help but think this is all part of Satan's plan to keep Christian parents from having the
biggest part of influence in their children's lives.

The bottom line here is... the Bible says men shouldn't be effeminate (woman-like). It says they will not enter the kingdom of God. It says cross-dressing is an abomination to God.

Very much in agreement with this. Theres nothing natutally effeminate about being a father, and children need the stong male role model and stability that fathers can give.

Our employment culture is ludicrous and deeply damaging. Most of us do jobs that dont really need to be done - just working long hours to keep the wheels of capitalism turning.

Anyway, its not particularly a biblical insight - but everything we know know about child development tells us that children do best when they grow up with a loving mother and father fully present in their lives.

Very enlightening thread thanks Ray for posting it, never even knew the word or that it was in the bible.
I'd seen the word "effeminate " but didn't know what it meant. Can a guy Choose to act that way?
