Eternal Wisdom of our Heavenly Father
Fathers Day is here again, and the Eternal Wisdom of our Heavenly Father remains.
In his letter to the church in Philippi, Paul reminded the believers that they were to
grow and mature in Christ so that they could, "Approve the things that are excellent."
All throughout the Epistles we are given 'fatherly advice' on how to live out this Christian
life and make wise decisions.
Perhaps God, your Father, is trying to speak to you today and help you discern right from wrong,
that you may choose what is most excellent? In 1 Cor 6:12 He is telling you to limit your freedoms
to what is most profitable and to never allow yourself to be mastered by anything or anyone but Him.
In 1 John 2:6 He reminds you to ask the question, "What would Jesus do?" In Romans 14:19 He
challenges you to ask whether or not your choices build up and edify other believers. In 1 Cor
10 He questions how your life is affecting others and if you are glorifying Him in all you do. And
finally, in Hebrews 12:1 God, your Father, Savior, and Friend, begs you to throw off any type
of sinful behavior or activity that drags you down and run the race of life to win. May we all
take a moment to heed our Father's advice and examine our own lives. God be with you all...
