Ethics and Morality?

Ethics:- the branch of knowledge that deals with moral principles:
Morality:- principles concerning the distinction between right and wrong or good and bad behaviour:

* The unbeliever can live a life that is both ethical and moral, in the eyes of his fellow man, and according to his own light: but to the believer in God it is His definition of what is right and wrong that matters isn't it? We know that in God's eyes man has already fallen short of His glory, because of sin. We inherit that through Adam. for through him sin entered into the world and death by sin. Living ethically and morally will bring it's own rewards, but it will not fit us for heaven. Only faith in the atoning work of Christ, when He took the penalty of our sin upon Himself and died in our place, can reconcile us to God, bring forgiveness of sin, and the imputation of God's righteousness to us, by faith in Christ's redeeming blood.

There have been people of my acquaintance, who have lived a moral and upright life. having all the qualities expected of one who has believed God concerning His Son the Lord Jesus Christ, and have had their sins forgiven them, yet who have no faith whatsoever.

I would think as always we must be careful how we hear or say we do. Its God's understanding that give us ears to what he says to the churches . .

Man looks upon the outside (no faith in God coming from God ) God by faith or labor of his love looks healing the inside. Puryfying the heart with the water of the word . . doctrines that fall like rain inspired from above.

1 Kings 8:39 Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men

The gospel . . Yoked with the Holy Spirit who works in us to both reveal his truth and empower us to do it to His good pleasure . natural man can do works of truth as a law of but they must be born again to seek his approval. Jesu did the will revealing the power came from God to finish it. unlike Jonah the murmurers who wanted to die rather than God have mercy . God is not served by human hands of dying mankind .

All truth is his . His name is Jealous he will not share his glory as if it came from dying flesh..

Flesh reflects the glory and power of God as children of light .never a source. .

I would offer. . He works to make men differ . . . .helping us to understand. . "what does any man have" that was not freely given by the will of God .

Satan who is still bringing lying signs to wonder or marvel after rather than believing God as it is written . Like you did say; . . everyone that is doing the same works has the same power coming from God. to include lying power God is no longer bring and new . Satan will be sending his lying wonder till the last day under the Sun

In that way God (the Alpha Omega) Just and justifier of our mutual faith knows the hearts of all men and provides the daily bread (hidden manna) to empower us to do it to His glory

"Let the light shine as a reflection of believers yoked with the Spirit of faith ,. . Christ in us. yoked with His love. . "

One more example. When looking as Hebrew s 11 a commentary on the doctrine of Christ's work of faith . A list of those moved mightily by God . It begins with the most well known the first apostle and martyr Abel. . same faith as the power of God with Noah Abraham Rehab .etc. . as to others not as well known . And in the end speaks of those who the world knew not that dwelt in caves .(God hiding them) It shows us the greatest is the unseen power of Christs labor of love . The first will be last.

It would move us out of our caves like the still small voice spoken to Elijah . . Get out I still have more gospel work for you get to work. or something like that. LOL

The wiles of the devil the accuser of the bretern the other way around keep distance . Murder the competition out of sight out of mind.(Pagainism)

The way that we live testifies about what we believe, which is why there are many verses that connect our belief in God with our obedience to Him. In Hebrews 1;3, Jesus is the exact image of God's nature, so the way to believe in him is by living in a way that testifies about aspects of his nature, such as righteousness, holiness, goodness, justice, mercy, and faithfulness, so if someone is living in a way that testifies about these qualities, then they have faith in Jesus.

As new creatures, sons of God . . .his labor of love or called work of His faith "it" testifies to the power of God working in us to both reveal his truth and empower us to do it to his glory . (Philippians 2:13 ) Jesus empowered by the father did the will with delight.

By the fruit of His labor of love grace by which he continues to forgive calling us to repent we can return to our first love "hearing God" through his written law of love empowering us to do the lightened load. .

Man looks upon the outside. God purifies the heart.

He promises even today to those born again sons of God that he will not forget the labor of love yoked or accompanied with Him .The better thing (forgiven) the fruit that accompanies salvation.

In that way we are removed from the thorns and thistles that prick one's conscience and those who look outwardly like Saul a murderer before . That thorn as the letter of the law (Death) was removed by grace . . the rain of the gospel our living hope .

Hebrews 6:6-9 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God: But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned. But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak

The key. . things that accompany salvation (not seen) . . .actual salvation the power of God the Creator . . not the lying usurper Legion .

One of the most deceptive things about sin is that "it lays dormant in a person until the Word of God comes along to expose it for what it is."

Rom 7:8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin was dead.
Rom 7:9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.

The word, "revived" in verse 9 means "to come back alive." Sin comes back to life in the presence of the Word of God.

So, maybe you know someone who is living a moral life. Their children are well-behaved, maybe they don't smoke or drink.
Once you begin to share the Gospel with them the sin in themselves revives from being dead to back to life. They will try to get away from you because what they sense in themselves is that they are a sinner and are in need of a savior. They think they are OK as long as the Word of God is not exposing their sin.
