Hello there,

John's gospel is full of witness statements, and evidential proofs of the identity of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the purpose for which He came into the world. Right from the very beginning. So that he could say, in chapter 20:-

'And many other signs truly did Jesus
in the presence of His disciples,
which are not written in this book:
But these are written, that ye might believe
that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God;
and that believing ye might have life through His name.'
(Joh 20:30-31)

Praise God!

Thank you
In Christ Jesus

I know exactly what you're talking about, I mean in your statement. But is there a question in the statement as well?

Hello @Bill,

I don't see a question, other than to ask, 'Do you believe it?'

Thank you

May the wisdom of the Holy Spirit fill our minds and hearts.

But of course I believe it.

I think one of the hardest Concepts that many people have when it comes to understanding all of the fullness of jesus, has to do with the first chapter of the Gospel of John. Where John refers to Jesus as the Word.

So often we're caught up with the physical Jesus, that we don't often look at Jesus in the abstract. A good example of this is when God spoke to Moses, when he gave the Ten Commandments the moses. Those words that were spoken and placed on the stone tablets, are the living words of Jesus.

Hello @Bill,

Yes, I know you believe it. Yet that was the only question I had to ask. For that really is what matters most, isn't it? That we should believe what we read in the word of God, concerning the Word of God, in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. He came to make God manifest didn't He, and what proceeded from His mouth were His Father's words and not His Own.

'Now thanks be unto God,
which always causeth us to triumph in Christ,
and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place.
For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ,
in them that are saved, and in them that perish:
To the one we are the savour of death unto death;
and to the other the savour of life unto life.
And who is sufficient for these things?
For we are not as many, which corrupt the word of God:
but as of sincerity, but as of God, in the sight of God
speak we in Christ.'
(2Cor. 2:14-17)

* What a testimony this is, by Paul, too, isn't it? May it be so of us. To be a sweet savour of Christ.

Thank you, Bill,
In Christ Jesus
Chris

'Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh:
yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh,
yet now henceforth know we him no more.
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:
old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
And all things are of God,

Who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ,
and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself,
not imputing their trespasses unto them;
and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
(2 Cor. 5:16-19)

Hello @Bill,

In response to your words concerning knowing Jesus physically, 'in the flesh', I thought of the verses above.

Paul and His fellow-workers had been given the ministry of reconciliation, hadn't they? They no longer saw mankind 'after the flesh', they testified to all whom they met, regardless of nationality, or position in society. Any man who believed their message and received the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord was known and loved, cherished and fed on the written word, and on the testimony of Christ that they held. They were brought to God in Christ, as those who had died with Him, been buried and raised with Him, and now walked in newness of life before the Father. Their spiritual welfare was Paul's concern, and he would have ministered unto them the things of the spirit, and prayed for them.

On this level we too should view those around us, shouldn't we? Not on the basis of the flesh, but of the spirit. In consideration of their spiritual welfare, and need, as well as their physical needs and requirements. So often the emphasis is on providing for physical necessities, when their eternal welfare should be our concern.

We also need to go on to know Christ in all His fulness, don't we? Leaving behind babyhood, and the needs and requirements of the flesh, to come into Christ, where He is at God's right hand, Having died with Christ, been buried, quickened and raised with Him, by the grace and power of God, we are walking now in newness of life before the Father, in the Spirit. Looking for His appearing in glory, when He Who is our life, shall appear, and we too will appear with Him in glory.

That is the hope of the members of the Body of Christ, for whom Christ is the Head isn't it? We will live looking, and praise God for the finished work of Christ.

Within the love of Christ our Saviour,
our Lord and Head.

This is very well written, you have an excellent understanding of being a follower of Jesus.

May God bless you in all your works. May His love flow from you to all you meet and may Jesus fill you with His wisdom

2Corinthians 13:5KJV- Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you ? ...
Yeah, Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you? ...

John 15:7 and 9 -->7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 9 - As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.
Amen
