The details differ, but the essential elements in the astronomical and biblical accounts of Genesis are the same: the chain of events leading to man commenced suddenly and sharply at a definite moment in time, in a flash of light and energy ... For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountain of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries. God and the Astronomers (1992) pp.106-107 <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Evolution and Cosmology aren't the same thing. There are also several striking differences between the current understanding of cosmology and the genesis account, one important one being Genesis 1:16 which implies immediate light to Earth in the six-day creation, though the light from the Andromeda Galaxy takes 2.2 million years to reach Earth.

The essentials are probably there, but I think most scientists are concerned with specifics at this point.

Hello!

I believe the account of creation began with light and the creation story will end with the light and the eternity will begin. The light is Jesus Christ.

I believe the seventh day is not complete, because Jesus Christ says:

John Chapter 5 verse 16 Therefore, the Jews began to persecute Jesus because he did this on a sabbath. 17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father is at work until now, so I am at work.” I believe the creation account is a promise of God.

Not sure that I understand you reply Neuroscience:

1) This is a quote, you seem to think that I wrote this.
2) Where was evolution mentioned in the article.
3) If God created the Universe, He may have created the light from Andromeda arriving at the Earth immediately. Otherwise, Adam would have looked up and viewed darkness.

It's not that I think you wrote this, it's just that the topic of your title is somewhat misleading. You titled it "Evolution?" and the quote has nothing to do with evolution.

Your third point doesn't really fit; as I said, most scientists are concerned with specifics. Why would the light be at first and then immediately take so long? Interesting questions for them, nonetheless.

Yes.

Sorry about that neuroscience. I thought that if I put Cosmology vs Creationism in the title, people might not take a peak at it. It was just an attempt at humour. I thought it was funny.

Fair enough. I found it a tad humorous in any case.
