Fabulously Rich

Christians are fabulously rich in the things that matter. They may not all be millionaires, but they are heirs to millions. They may not be burdened with bullion, but they are daily loaded with blessings.

We are rich in emotional experience...... When God forgave our sins He rid us of the hurt of a guilty conscience. The burden of regret is gone: in its place is that sense of release and delight in living which the bible calls "peace and joy in the Holy Ghost"

We are rich in fellowship..... Whatever may be the faults of the Christian Church - and it has many - one thing remains, it is the most widespread and deeply rooted "Friendy Society" on earth. The name of Jesus links many civilsations, cultures and classes. "Hallelujah"! is its password from the equator to the poles. With God as its Father, the whole body of believers - in spite of sect and denomination - is one world family.

We are rich in literature...... Apart from the mass of books compiled by saints and seer's through the Christian centuries, we are particularly blessed with one book that surpasses all - the Bible. What a treasure it is! In the light of its pages we can unlock the past, understand the present, and unveil the future. It is a guide to victorious living, a liturgy for private and public devotions, a compendium of inspiring biographies, a thesaurus of delightful poetry. But above all it is a revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, whose Spirit pervades it from the first word to the last.

We become enriched in character...... Starting with a climactic experience known as the New Birth., the Christian goes on to "grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ" until life is rich in moral beauty, noble and serene. A mans greatest asset is what he is: Christianity gives us a better self, a maturer self, a satisfying self.

We are rich in expectations...... As rabbi Ben Ezra said...."the best is yet to be""eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for those who love Him"
1Cor 2:9

"Certainly it doth not yet appear what we shall be" but we know that in the day of our Kings Coronation we shall share His glories and reign with Him for ever and ever.

Christians are rich. But our source of wealth is not in ourselves, but in the Lord. " For ye know the grace of our LOrd Jesus Christ that, though He was rich yet for our sakes He became poor.......that we through His poverty might be rich" 2Cor8:9

Blessed Jesus....Thy coming has ended our soul poverty and made us rich unto Salvation.

Great post brother thank you for sharing this :) All glory to GOD

We are set free and what a great joy it is! I love when my minds *attempts* to think of the great joy in Heaven with GOD our Savior. It is impossible to father the ultimate reward, the great joy of being in the presence of GOD face to face! But, we (as you mentioned) are indeed rich in Christ. We have Him sealing our salvation and granting us peace and comfort through the Holy Spirit.

We are even rich in all things pertaining to this life.We are heirs of the promises God gave Abraham. We are partakers of the Abrahamic covenant. We have access to supernatural prosperity.Abraham believed that God would bless him and make his name great and it was accounted unto him for rightousness. So also since we have faith in Jesus who is the son of the promise according to Gal 3:1-end,we have access to the same promise of greatness that the Lord promised Abraham.
Let us get rid of that mentality that christians can NOT be materially bouyant and blessed.Infact that is God's will. His word says he has made available unto us all things pertaining to "life"and godliness. In otherwords,we have riches on both sides. Both spiritual and physical wealth belongs to us.All things our ours....Our Father says silver and gold belongs to Him...even the cattles on the thousand hills are His.Halleluyah!
Do not let us think being prosperous monetarily is canal,no,a thousand times no.The only thing that we do when we are endowed with physical wealth is to place eternal value on it.That way we'ld be pleasing God with our substance for he gives us power to make wealth!Amen.

Too bad that the first apostles didn't have you to teach them, I am sorry but I can't agree with your prosperity gospel because it is not found under the new covenant, in Acts 3 Peter and John didn't have any money and Paul knew what it was to be in lack. Jesus said that it is hard for a rich man to get into heaven. I don't think God wants to make us rich and in so doing make it hard for us all to get into heaven.

Jiggyfly i hope you know revelation is progressive.Besides you said something about the new covenant. If this new covenant is that same covenant that was sealed with the blood of jesus who left his glory and became poor,so that through his poverty we might be rich, then i guess you might have to really explain further how the new covenant negates prosperity.Jesus himself declared the he came to preach the good news to the poor.
Have you ever thought of that? What good news could he have had to share with someone whose physical and spiritual life is in a mess?
About the apostles who were broke,it was to show us that material gains despite how vital it is can be done without NOT that it is forbidden for christians to be rich. That was why Jesus told that rich man to sell all he had and follow him.Jesus is not willing to have us prosper without us placing eternal value on our prosperity.Apostle paul once said in one of his epistles that all the things which i count as gain i forsake for the sake of the gospel. That means i value God more than materialism.Remember he was the same person who said in Galatians that through our faith in Jesus we have access to thesame promises God made to Abraham. What are these promises, they are of greatness in all its ramifications!
Before God would endow you with wealth he would have proved and tested you in so many ways.He said it will be difficult for a rich man to enter into the kingdom because he knows how easily material gains can sweep off the feet of whoever has not gotten a hold on the kingdom. My dear brother ,God wants you to know him very well and he wishes above all things that you prosper and be in good health even as your soul prospers.Amen.

In His wisdom and generosity, God does bless some Christians with great worldly wealth, but not so that they may just live a life of luxury. He wants them to use that wealth to further the work of the gospel so that He can bless both giver and receiver.

However, I do not believe He ever intended for accumulation of money to be of great importance to a believer, which is why the Apostle Paul wrote: "People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction." (1 Tim 6:9).

If you want testimony as to the danger of riches, read what happened to King Solomon in 1 Kings 10 through 12. You might also check out Ecclesiastes 5 & 6 (many believe that Solomon is the author of this book) and read the testimony of a man who found riches to be a curse.

Amen Stephen.

2Co 8:2 How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and in utterance, and in knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also.
.
Rev 2:9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich)
