Everyone has lonely moments in life, but when loneliness begins to define our lives, it causes serious problems. We compromise our principles to try to fill the emotional emptiness. We choose behavior that harms our health, relationships, and finances. The consequences can be devastating. Learn how God desires to fulfill every longing you have for meaningful connection.

Thank you - I've realized I have to develop a 'virtual life' now. It's where God has me.

I am going through a season of loneliness also. Mine is not even lack of people around me or people that I know. The loneliness i experience is feeling misunderstood, not having anyone to really open my heart to or who I can really trust and not having people that stick with through difficult times. Its really hard season

If you want to talk - I'll talk and try to understand. Sometimes the support that I get from my husband is like gold - no one understands me like he does. However - I spend many hours by myself, which I find hard. I have a hard time making it to church.

Knowing Jesus And having this intimate relationship with him, has made loneliness a thing of the past for me

That's a good point. I have been sidelined with physical problems, so can't get out. But it has made me grow close to God - so I guess that's how He planned it.

Have you been a believer long?

'Intimacy' thrives in the place called 'privacy'. Lonely times are the best times to get intimate with Jesus, all the more! Philippians 3:10 becomes personal when the search of God becomes individual! Whenever I feel lonely, I get busy, until I rub with HIS glory! Praise, worship, prayer, bible study, meditation... I just get busy!

T'was a good one Chad! Thanks...

When there is God's will behind everything, in fact, he has to be the cause of loneliness.

First, welcome to Talk Jesus manishk012
Hope you find this online Christian Community beneficial.

However, after reading your two postings. I have a feeling if you believe in God, that you're not enamored with Him.

Regardless, be welcome.
With the Love of Christ Jesus.

Hi - I don't know if the post was for me but I'll answer in case it was. I don't doubt God is there - not a bit - what I do have trouble with is why He allowed such harshness into my life and my family's life. We've been hit pretty hard and now I'm coping with unbearable health problems. Knowing God knows and is in control helps some but I always tell him my disappointment - vociferously at times - because He wants "truth in our innermost being." I shunned churches where people bobbled around with a pasted smile on saying Christian "cliches" - I've always been pretty real.

Join the club! I was deeply betrayed by a friend or two. It's hard to find trustworthy people.

But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed." ~ Luke 5:16

Jesus speaking: “If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever— the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you." ~ John 14:15-18

I don't know about you, but sometimes I feel lonely in this world of ours. I can be surrounded by people all around me and still feel lonely. I often hunger for the kind of Christian fellowship I knew years gone by that seems a rarity these days, where we share deeply from our hearts and encourage one another with God's love and his word. During these times of loneliness, though, Jesus' love comforts our hearts with his presence, his grace, his comfort and compassion, his warm embrace, and his close and abiding friendship. He understands us like no one ever could. He knows what is truly in our hearts and he knows and feels all our hurts. By his stripes we are healed! Amen!

When You’re Lonely / An Original Work / May 14, 2011

When you are lonely, needing a friend,
His love will comfort you; give peace within;
Providing His grace; keep you from sin;
Jesus, our Savior, Master and friend.

If you will call Him to meet your need,
He will be there to bring understanding;
Offering His love and compassion,
As we seek Jesus, turning from sin.

He wants your whole heart and devotion
Committed to Him in full obedience.
Give Him your whole life, a sacrifice,
Forsaking the world; live to please God.
