I have a lot of questions regarding salvation and am wondering if someone here ever have experienced the same and have any advice?
Ok, I’ll try to be honest with you and give you a little bit information about my background: I was raised in a Catholic family. Didn’t go to church so much as a child, but when we as a family prayed or when I went to church, I can remember feeling Gods presence. At that time, faith was such a natural part of my daily life and my conscience quite alert in comparison to it today. After confirmation however, I began to struggle with my faith. I began masturbating, did not take the same time to pray as before, and fought a lot with my mother among other things. One incident had a particular negative effect, it happened ironically just after coming home from a Christian youth weekend when I felt the urge to read the Bible. So I read in the Bible, and came across a passage that talked about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. After I’ve read this passage, I began to have blasphemous thoughts in my head. For quite a long period of time I was afraid of having lost my salvation, and could not understand how I, such an unholy person, could possibly be loved by God, and at the same time longed to have God in my life.

God spoke to me in that time through experiences and passages, especially Romans chapter 4 meant a lot to me. I also attended a quite charismatic week camp when I was about 17, and after that camp I began to read a lot in the Bible, and actually started to believe what Gods word say about myself, the people around me, salvation in Jesus Christ, and with God’s grace I started applying this knowledge to my life. Those were the most happiest days in my life, I felt strongly that God was with me, and I could see how my mind set was changing, and that it affected not only me, but also (some of) the people I encountered. The blasphemous thoughts were getting quite seldom, and whenever they popped out, God reminded me of His word (for example “He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world), I stopped completely to masturbate, I felt a need to show Gods love to other people, felt such an inner peace and happiness – my life had totally changed.

But the change didn’t last for long L after starting school again, I slid back to the old routines, where regularly prayer was neglected and did not attend church that much either. Starting university I began masturbating again, even though it did not feel right and in spite of my previous negative experiences with it! I attended some church meetings, and could feel God “aching”, “nudging” me in the heart. I still got more of the path, did not attend church at all for a long period, started masturbating again even after having stopped doing that once more. Now I’m in my second year, and even though I do not masturbate, I still feel so empty. I know my heart is not right with God, my thoughts are darkened and I feel any good fruit lack.
Seeing how my life is now compared to the person I should be in Christ, makes me seriously consider if my salvation was ever true in the first place, or obviously that I’ve fallen away. If I truly believed and believe Christ died for me, why is not my life changed? How can I claim belonging to the “Wine tree” and at the same time not bear fruit? Is my desire to come back to God, only a product of my own selfishness and fear of coming into hell? Is it a true desire? How do I know, when the heart can be so deceitful? How do I know then I feel so empty, doubtful, so hard-hearted, and with unfruitful negative and evil thoughts?

A passage reads: “For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." I can sometimes find myself calling out “Father!”, but does that prove that the passage is true in my life? Considering I also have such distorted views about God? And doubts about my salvation in Christ? Considering that I can’t always seem to feel the nagging, and longing after him, not realizing how important He truly is, and passages such as “don’t be arrogant, but be afraid” and Hebrews 6,4-8 with “It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned.”

Of course, I can’t expect you to look into my heart and tell the state of my soul.

If it’s truly is too late for me to be saved, then you can’t do anything about it and God is just.

But it there’s any hope, I would appreciate help in finding it and believing it.

I hope you can see what I’m trying to express.

Thank you so much,
“Lychee”

Is there Hope

Blessings........!!!

Your salvation...... first your looking at wrong scripture.

“It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance.

It says it's impossible for us to bring them back to repentance. It did not say they can't repent, just not possible for us to bring them back. Paul was giving instruction to those that ought to be teachers. Many left being a Christian because of Judaism and being cast away by their family's. They were also being persecuted and decided Jesus was not worth all that.

You and I know Jesus is worth all that, and even in many dark years of not serving Him, the gift and callings of God are without repentance. In other words, though we may take a 10-20 year break from serving God, that seed he planted in us is still there, dormant, waiting for us to activate it again. You won't escape what God has called you to do!!!

Now look at this scripture...............

Php 1:6
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

You were 17 years old, just a kid. Had you served God for 20 years, you still would only know a few things. You are being just being silly hard on yourself. At what point at 17 did you reach this super Christian status where you knew so much, God is going to hold you accountable for jumping off the wagon and doing your own thing?

God is not like that!!! otherwise these things would not be on your heart, you would not even be posting here if it was to late.

Those that truly leave God, the light goes out, there is no more thought of God, the Holy Spirit stops dealing with that person.

Your problem
Your problem is just flesh, and paying attention to "Feelings" chuck all that, and start off spending 5 min a day with God praying. Then read Eph Chapter 1, then the next day read Eph chapter 3, then the next day read Col chapter 1.

Repeat that for a few weeks, just 5 min a day, some prayer and those chapters. be faithful to do it the same time everyday.

Col 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
Col 1:10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

Eph 3:16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
Eph 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

Throughout the day

Now just confess during the day that "I am filled with the knowledge of the Lords will in all wisdom, and spiritual understanding, I will walk pleasing unto the Lord, and I am strengthened with Might by his spirit. Christ dwells in my heart by faith, not by how I feel, or what I hear, but by faith!!! I am rooted and ground in Love, I know the love of Christ, I fully understand it.

You get the picture..........

start getting your spirit man nourished again. Get something in there, because if you start to prosper on the inside, your flesh and feelings start to prosper on the outside.

Get built up!!! soon, 5 minutes won't be enough.

Jesus Is Lord.

Hebrews 6,4-8 is about people who experienced holy spirit but then fall away because they didnt believe Jesus sacrafice was enough for them so they fell away to recrucify son of God afresh to them selves.
bible always tells us how Jesus sacrafice is enough and we are saved by grace. only people who are impossible to renew to repentace are those who reject God's very truth that Jesus sacrafice is enough and is what gives us the Holy spirit (after experiencing spiritual things from God and then saying Jesus doesn't save and thus fall away in unbelief toward Jesus).

as Jesus is already crucified for us:

(Heb 10:12) But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

only thing we cant expect people to repent from is complete falling away from God due to unbelief , after experiencing Holy spirit and then leaving God thinking there's no salvation in Jesus.

what more can convince people to believe in Jesus than His holy spirit?

that's what hebrews is about i believe. building your faith and not counting Jesus as worthless.

salvation is free a gift. so if anything you can do and should do is to believe more.

(Eph 2:8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

the people in hebrews didn't believe Jesus would save anyone .. that's why they fall away to recrucify Jesus afresh because they didnt believe the real value of God's sacrafice for them.
that's why it says in Heb 6:7 that they are cursed for not believing in Jesus... as they reject Him in unbelief and never return probably because they keep on the judaism instead of believing in Jesus was salvation.

I hope i've made my self clear. it's talking only about complete unbelievers in Jesus.

if you have faith that Jesus is real and savior then that's all that matters.
and if you were saved then why wouldn't you be saved now? I don't think you can lose your salvation. just continue to grow closer to God.

(Heb 6:9) But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

also God never wishes no one to perish so it's never too late for anyone.

(1Ti 2:4) Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

God bless you... i hope this clears up the confusion about hebrews and God's will regarding your salvation.

Thank you

Hi again!

Thank you so much for your replies.

I regret saying "makes me seriously consider if my salvation was ever true in the first place" because I do believe God saved me that time.

Regarding Hebrews, I'm not sure. I want to trust in what Jesus did completely, but can find myself doubting when looking on how bad I am and the one I think I ought to be as a Christian.

I guess that counts as unbelief? Could you please pray for me to grow in faith and have less unbelief? To totally rest in the grace that is in Christ Jesus?

Sister Lychee. When we were very young,we hurt ourselves a lot in our childhood. Do you remember what happen in those times? We might have run to mom or dad crying because of the pain we were in.They would first comfort us,then tend to the bumps or cuts, maybe but a band aid on it,then once again comfort us.

Saying it will be alright,I have seen to you! And I love you! Jesus does the same with us as adults! ( 2 Cor 12:9-10!!) This is not making excuses for the weakness, all it is doing is saying we all have them! Now the enemy hits us with guilt because of this.He looks to draw you away from a most loving Jesus!

The same Jesus who used either or both of your parents when you were hurt as a little one. That is because dear sister Jesus is, and will always be LOVE! He does not sit in heaven ready to pound us when we have done something wrong.Unlike the devil is! When someone is putting there hands in your pockets you stop them, that person is looking to steal from you. When a person tells you that you are wearing a green blouse when it is red, they are lying to you. That is the enemy!!( john 10:10,John 8:44

That is is very nature sis! So many in Christ i know have this very same weakness, all are as concerned about this as you are.Me included! Because we know it is of the flesh and not of the Spirit! We know at the time,it gives relief from the pressure we feel at any time.We lie to ourselves to be able to do this thing.SEE!! I have been there sis!

But Jesus lives in me,and he lives in you!And he lives in the people here on TalkJesus as well! We all fall and hurt ourself from time to time, and so,we are here because Jesus is here. And since Jesus is here, his faithful love he has for us all is here as well! Because my sister in Christ,we represent him!

We mend oneanother in him.We comfort others with the very same Words as we would our own children. Sometimes the cuts we have sustained in our life leave a scar,I was skating at a roller rink and fell and hit my chin on the hard floor,it left a scar on my chin. The scar is there,in memory of a past mistake.

We have scars in the Spirit world as well. Jesus has scars as well. He has holes in both his hands and feet. A memory of what he has done. Of course his scars were no mistake! But he has them as well! I have found that the Word of God,is my true comfort, and when I read from this daily,it mends my weakness I have everyday as well.

To say one has lost there salvation,is saying what Jesus did on the cross was not enough for you! I have found salvation cannot be lost, it can be traded away. In order to lose something promised, we must first give it away! Judas did this. This first happened in Gen 25:31-34 When Esau sold his birthright! Salvation can only become gone, when we sell it! Or when we just do not want it!( hebrews 6:4-6) The person must not want salvation!!

They have to turn there own back on Jesus!! Sin does not turn the back, what turns the back, is wanting to! Saying I no longer want Jesus! God Forbid! You dear sister, as us all, not only want Jesus, we NEED JESUS!! daily!! We love him, because he first loved us!! ( 1 John 4:19) And by Jesus always!! yes always!! loving us,we learn from this, and then, and only then, can we ourselves follow him in his love!( please read 1 John 4:17-21 for yourself, and see!)

Jesus does not hold a candy bar out to us,then as we reach for it take it away, but the devil does! As an adult there is one big difference we have then as a child. As a child, parents run to them,as an adult, we are to run to Jesus! But we find out something!! We do not have to run to Jesus,he is always with us,and in us! His Word is right on your shelf, but you must draw that water from the well, and drink from it.

That is the point to reading his Word daily! If you do not eat or drink for a long time, your body will grow weak, well our Spirit in Christ will grow weak, if we do not eat and drink from his Word. So be comforted!! You are not dead inside!!! Jesus raised you from the dead, when he rose! That is what Easter was all about! Sin is what comes between flesh and Spirit, and Jesus is mediator between God and man or woman!( 1 tim 2:3-6!!)

Jesus came, and died and rose again, just so we can never!! EVER!!!! be separated from our loving Jesus again!!( rom 8:35-39!!) Notice the scripture!!! The Word is truth, and from truth we are set free in Jesus because of it!!!( john 8:31-32) I did not expect to speak this long, please do forgive the long message!

But when we are in Christ, we care!We love, we comfort, and we show how to pick yourself back up and move forward in our loving Lord Jesus!! So be made whole in Jesus, get back into his Word, and show yourself, and the devil, that NOTHING!!! comes between you and a most Loving Father!amen!

hi
i think hebrews is about laboring to enter His rest which has nothing to do with salvation as salvation is free gift and not result of works.
the writer of hebrews is asking them to push forward in their faith. because some people completely rejected Jesus in disbelief that He would be the savior.. or didnt believe Jesus gave them the holy spirit due to His sacrafice.

but Jesus does give us the holy spirit. and thats only because of His grace and what He did on the cross for us. and to this faith hebrews is exhorting to believe.
to mature in christ you know.

God bless

First off, Lychee, I pray blessings, love, and peace upon you in the name of our Lord Jesus. You are not lost, you're just finding what it means to be a soldier in God's army.

Remember, vines bear fruit in their season. There will be times when there is no discernible fruit whatsoever, and times of bounty. Growing in knowledge of the LORD is a process, and He knows it won't happen overnight.

It sounds like you understand what it takes to thrive as a child of God: Daily intimacy with Jesus in prayer. When we put Jesus first, and spend quality time with Him, most of the difficulties with sin, inner-peace, and joy will disappear. It is a supernatural work that occurs when we seek His face.

You do have to make a choice, though. You cannot keep one foot in the world and one foot in the Kingdom of God. You will continue on a roller-coaster if you don't go for God with all your heart. Does this endanger your eternal salvation? No. It will, however, bring about a joyless life because it appears as though God has put His seal upon you and He won't share you with the world. This is a blessing! Many people wallow in what the world has to offer without ever knowing what God is about. You know better.

Don't be afraid to let His Spirit have more of your heart. It's not complicated. Seek Him daily, get in His Word, cry out to Him in your trouble and He will deliver you. As you grow in the Lord, you will become stronger and wiser and you will recognize the pit-falls and traps of this world and begin to side-step them with ease.

Seek out fellowship with real believers, forsake the worldly acquaintances, Satan will only use them to take you away from your one true Joy: Jesus!

Calmness of Christ's Giant Peace Be With You

May be the peace of Jesus flow through you from head to toe, like an invisible energy force of the holy spirit rushing through your blood vessels like a giant waterfall, breaking and tearing to pieces all kinds of deceiving sins such as sexual hunger, anger, depression, disease, unbelief. Calmness of emotions is a sign of strong confidence that is supernatural to our future new glorious minds and bodies of Christ once Jesus returns in the future to transform all of us faithful believers, as we pray and wait patiently for his life-changing plan for our yet-to-experience sinless perfect lifestyle in God's most modern community: the Kingdom Of God. We are at spiritual war with Satan, and by allowing Jesus to take control of our constantly failing lives, we Christians can only do what Jesus would do: to keep as calm as the calmest sea that mirrors the shining blue clear sky, to feel refreshed and renewed like clean fresh oxygen in your lungs, to stay healthy with no sign of dishonesty that leads to crime, violence and war.
Such calmness of emotions is our supernatural safety of our Lord Jesus Christ that's far superior than all the comic heroes put together like Superman, Batman, Hulk, Spiderman, Thor, Ironman.
