What are you guy's thoughts on different fantasy stories, like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and others, and their use of demons, monsters, creatures, and other fantasy creatures to convey different themes in story telling. I've heard some say that some of these stories, particularly Harry Potter, are evil and should never be read by Christians and their families. I've heard others say that it's hypocritical to condemn stories like this while praising stories like Narnia, who use the same themes of Good vs. Evil in their stories. I personally love fantasy, and I enjoy reading about how the heroes go through their journeys to overcome their own inner demons, all the while fighting monsters and all that. I also enjoy the twists where something that is portrayed as evil is actually, in fact, good, like say a monster is actually a victim of circumstances, and the truly evil ones are the ones that are initially portrayed as good.
But yeah, what are your thoughts on this?

Harry Potter is witchcraft and it teaches children that witchcraft is a normal and a good thing.

Growing up my parents allowed me to watch Lord Of The Rings because it's good vs evil and in the end good wins. Theirs a little bit of sorcery but LOTR doesn't try to normalize it like Harry Potter. I've watched Harry Potter before and got a lot of bad vibes from it, and they speak some kind of Satanic sounding language throughout the movie.

I'm still a huge Lord Of The Rings fan. I've never watched Narnia so I have no opinion of it.

Tolkein - author of Lord of the Rings - played a large part in CS Lewis' conversion to Christianity. There was a lot of fuss about the first Harry Potter books from Christians, but Christian themes came out a lot more strongly in the later ones. And the Narnia stories are straightforward Christian allegory.

Read everything with a discerning mind.
